I loved Gareth Barry and believed he was instrumental in our success however the silly fouls he gave away often played to the oppositions benefit. Dinho has a great engine eye for a pass, but for me his ability to break down play without giving away fouls is amazing.

He had a good game today, but I think you're going OTT with the praise here. It took him 20 minutes to get into the game. After that he gave a solid performance - some quality interceptions and passing, but also a few mistakes.

He's a very good player and a great addition to the squad, but he was not the best player on the park today by a fucking mile. There were good performances throughout the team and if anyone stood out it was Aguero, or possibly Nasri.

i can only criticize him for his tackling success rate today.other than that he was very good. 3 key passes. 90% passing accuracy.

the tactic was to sit and hit spurs on the break. i'm guessing pellegrini decided to have a defensive approach because of the defeat vs sunderland and the fact that most players just came back from the international break and were a bit tired.

I'd say we decided to play the counter attacking game because we scored after 15 seconds-SIMPLE !!

What you are missing is that Fernandinho's brilliance allows the other (more eye catching) players you mention to do the 'glamour' side of our game.

Look at Utd's massively underwhelming midfield today without Carrick (their version of Fernandinho) to facilitate. The rest of them, even their better 'glamorous' players looked shit.

Wholeheartedly agree, Yaya can do anything he wants when he cares & I know we won 6-0 but Yaya's performance was one of the most apathetic I have ever seen.

Fernandinho is carrying him and if he was allowed to attack more I think he would be regarded as the complete midfielder people like to claim Yaya is.

Fernandinho was MOTM for me today, but why the fuck do you then ruin it by slagging off Yaya at the same time? Yaya did not have his best game today (it happens) but was part of a team that stuffed one of the best sides in the league 6 frigging nil, and in that burst that led to Sergio's second goal showed exactly why EVERY other team in the PL would want him in their side, and yet he constantly gets shit off so many fuckwits in this forum, unbelieveable

It's criminal that he's not in the Brazil squad. He out played 2 regulars and has been more consistent over the course of this season. There's no excuse to continue to leave him out. I've had Brazilian NT apologist reduced to "it's just preference" as to why he continues to get overlooked. Total bullocks. THE biggest difference in our team this year. His absence against Sunderland was telling. His all round game is brilliant. Breaks the play up, circulates the ball calmly, quickly & accurately, covers the defence, launches our counter attacks... everything. Even his physicality and timing of challenges have improved since the start of the season.

Scolari is having a fucking laugh if he doesn't play him ahead of Paulinho & Ramires for the NT. He's comfortably better than both of them. It's Brazil's loss if he doesn't.
