He got us the winner today . Was MOTM versus rags . He also won the free kick which Kolorov scored. Watching his celebration and post match interview, seems he proud to pull on the shirt. Get another 9 who are "up for it " and we'll be ok . First names on team sheet Hart DInho. Anyone else agree with this .

Pellegrini doesn't seem to.

He is better than the other midfielders at the moment but as someone else said, he was awful pre Xmas and therefore overall has had an average season.

Our midfield needs a complete overhaul and based on that, I think it will be a step backwards before we challenge for the title again. Our form since Xmas has been that bad that I just can't see how anyone would be able to turn that around with this squad in 3 months. New players will need time to settle in.

The regression in 12 months has been stunning. I didn't see this coming this season at all.
He wasn't awful pre-Christmas at all.

Are people forgetting Bayern away and Roma away? He played really well when he came on against Spurs at home...these are MOTM level performances against high quality opposition, just off the top of my head. There will be other games he played very well in too.
He was generally awful until the international break in October/November when he went away and scored for Brazil. That seemed to banish the demons of the semi final humiliation from the summer and he's been back to his best since. Give him a partner with a similar work rate and technical ability and a midfield two would be much more appropriate.

still remember Fernandinho spat with Kompany. while Kompany form has been shit all season, Fernandinho consistently on form, even he get no help at all from Yaya. he should be our new Captain next year.

Baffling why he gets dropped. Just another clueless decision from the dinosaur

He certainly gets about the pitch, no doubt about that!
He should be the spine of our midfield next season.

I think the world cup fucked him up & he shouldn't even have been playing, as he wasn't fit. I don't think he's been right all season but he did start to get there after that break. Yesterday was much more like the true player, apart from the finishing, & brings hope that we will see him back to 100% next season.

He was a miles better player for Shakhtar than the player we see at City, even at his best though. That has 100% been down to him playing a different role because of Yaya imo. Maybe it's too late to change now, but Fernandinho is a class act who could have done a lot more in the right team.
