Fernando has turned it around

Must have done well yesterday as Dipperpool offered so little threat. I was really surprised how poor they were. Not sure that he has the ball playing skills that Pep requires in his deepest lying midfielder but he is a useful player to have around.
 
Upgrade on De Jong IMO. Breaks up play, knows how to buy a couple of seconds to allow others to get back into position and knows when and where to make the yellow card foul. Vital that he stays fit until the end of the season as we are better defensively with him in the team than out
 
For once we had the correct setup against Dippers and then Fernando did great as well!
 
One of those players who is aware of his limitations it brings a calmness on the ball and he just plays it easy to keep play ticking over rather than trying to ping it all over the pitch.
 
He has been top quality past few games.

He is playing for his future at the club now.

Great news for us, at the very worst we pick up a few extra million for him, at best he becomes the player we thought we were buying.

I have been a critic but I thought he was outstanding yesterday. The way he played on the front foot, breaking up the player and good passing. At worst we will at least get a few quid for him in the summer now. Hope we keep the current set up for the remainder of season. Although he was helped by Yaya putting a good shift in.
 
Lol! Probably these are the same fans who said Adam Johnson has more potential than Gareth Bale.
