Fernando Torres [Merged]

I hate how these threads turn when it looks like someone won't be signing for us. Torres is a great player and on his day one of the very very best, that being said it's a huge risk and for my money if he stays at the dippers its down to us and Chelsea walking away, nothing else.

Will people feel better when it becomes common knowledge that City were the ones to kill the deal and NOT Torres, his agents or Liverpool?

I didn't want Torres from the off, so leave me out of it. ;-)

-- Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:29 pm --

To be honest, I don't want him based on the risk, but that doesn't stop him being one hell of a player.

The Fat Spanish Waiter is responsible for the plight Torres finds himself in at the moment. In desperation and in an effort to save his own arse and that of a team that's lost in the wilderness, he rushed him back into Prem League action far to early after his knee op. He'll be a great striker once again after a couple of months of R&R to repair him physically and mentally. He had no chance of making any impact in the World Cup. His head must be mashed at the moment. I'd still buy him if he became available.

We should avoid lining Red Scouse pockets to take injury prone crocks off their hands.

Not one to piss on anyones chips(you know me), but I think this sends out a lound and clear message. Anyone who can't read into Torres's future plans needs their head testing.

It's true. Fortunately we have other irons in the fire. Click on the link for more pictures.

I am rapidly coming round to this point of view. Great player but he now looks unable to play three matches on the run without breaking down. If we're going to throw outrageous money at a player, we may as well sign one with a good injury record. I'm not convinced Liverpool are our rivals for top 4 any more but giving them 70 million to spend might be their only hope of getting back in the mix. Let's leave them in 7th place with a great player who only plays 12 matches a season.

Shades of the Kaka shirt waving incident.
