Fair enough but this week is proving that the once thought of impossible is no longer impossible for us.

If we are in for him we have a very good chance imo and the pointers say we are ;-)

we have the money to sign anyone we want but its if the player wants to come is another story money aint everything all the time kaka 100m wouldnt come then went to madrid for 40m less

Classic "likkle City" syndrome.

We are not worthy and all that.

Fact is, noone, not even Real MAdrid, can compete with us financially.

And if we do deals with our competitors, ie, Chelsea, RM and Barca, that we won't pursue one player if they don't pursue another, then there'sa good chance we could get players like Torres.

Correct.

Name them then.

I can only think of Chelsea & Barca.

None of the Italian clubs have the required money (and yes, that includes Inter), neither do Utd & he wouldnt go to Real.

Inter are wadded.

maybe thats why they all didnt go after silva then

Yes, that's right. I know for a fact we blew United out the water for Silva, and that he was interested in RM first and us second. RM went for Di Maria, leaving us to pick up Silva.

That's how we are wheeling and dealing at the moment.

We do hold some good cards, not least the fact that we can push the price through the roof on any player. That's a serious card to hold.

Is that legal though? I doubt it. I would think it falls foul of anti market-fixing legislation.

It goes on all the time and there's nothing illegal about it.

Redknapp even whinged to the press about us doing it for Bellamy last year.
