Garcia will have to go with Rodwell staying as back up regardless of Squad restrictions. Shame as he has been one cool customer since his return to regular first team football.

We should offer rodwell along with lescott and cash back to Everton for Barkley.

Would be good to get Barkley but Lescott is not ours to sell anymore :-(

I grew up in Liverpool and know loads of Everton fans. They are convinced they are about to announce a huge sale of the club and will keep hold of Barkley to build a team around. Not seen any media reports though.

Interesting in the light of Martinez's comments last week re large investors.

I would keep Garcia, he is a good player who can can be brought on to see a game out if needed.

he rarely gets injured and can also play centre back.

Yep we need 4 good CM's/DM's and Rodwell hasn't proved himself to be reliable. Yaya, Fernandinho, Garcia, Fernando is a fantastic selection.

Costa played friendlies only for Brazil, only official games count.

Fernando last played for U20 Brazil in 2007. I thought you just couldn't play at senior level.
Bizzarely, U20 official tournament football is considered more important than senior international friendlies. Makes no sense, but that's apparently the reason

I think it's actually a rule that you can switch between nations even if you have played up to U21 level but you have to be eligible for both the country you are currently playing for and the country you may play for. Fernando wasn't eligible for Portugal when he played for Brazil so he can't switch.

£16m fee agreed apparently

If true that's a great price in today's market. Though I assume that would mean we pay a little more Mangala.

£41 mill for both seems to be a price I keep seeing so that would make Mangala about £25 mill if that's right.
