tbf i don't think Barca ever offered us anything for Garcia. It was some nominal ridiculous fee most likely.

Torres is a 50m transfer. Easy to see why we are more inclined to bank the money.

How can you say Torres would have happily stayed when Pep literally said he asked to leave.
Barca offered 15 million and we took nothing 6 months later. They both asked to leave.

Most reports I read said that Torres was happy to stay if City could not come to an arrangement with Barca.

You wouldn’t believe the stuff he does here in Brazil lol
Jo says he has now been sober for two years. “The parties were not the priority,” he said.

“I liked to drink at home, but it took me to do other things. The drink was the crucial point.

“Today I sleep all night. I’m already two years without a drink. I’m 100% improved.”

Might explain a lot........

Not a chance I believe that, I think we would have snapped there hands off anything over 10 million for Garcia.

He was adapting into the 9 role and we can never know how he would have fared with time this season. He had one season to settle and now would have had more game time. He has been injured for awhile. The penultimate game before his injury took his national team to a Nations League final. To say you prefer Palmer or McAtee over him at this point is an over exaggeration. There is at this point a gap of quality and experience. There is a reason why Barcelona has decided to make Ferran the guy to elevate them. Which major European club would have thought that of Palmer or McAtee?

The problem is the standard it sets. Now it’s very easy to leave. For a manager that loves rotation as much as he does, that’s asking for trouble. And if someone comes in with an offer from a club that isn’t Barcelona and hears a no, it will stink.
Btw Ferran wasn’t unhappy. There wasn’t a single article saying this. There was an article two days ago saying he would happily stay and fight for his place if he weren’t allowed to leave
Fair enough. I think Pep and crew concluded he wasn't going to become a superstar, so they were happy to let him move so long as he was happy. And it seems he is.

So I'm fine either way. And while Palmer and Mctee don't have his rep, the amount of little time he'd have gotten can be split by then to earn us future rewards in their development.

So one can 'prefer' palmer/Mcatee now on the strength of the value that time will add to their future production.

Really disappointed but yea whatever holistic shit .
