I would suspect that the deal was signed yesterday the medical and PR side of it is ongoing and it will be official by the end of the week. Signings come with social media hoopla now and that takes a bit of time - but also means it will leak out as someone somewhere is booking the medical / flights / hotels, someone will be printing a shirt with his name on it ready, he wont be with his team training, Txiki will be getting his blue jumper dry cleaned etc etc. You don't go into all that unless the deal is done, and you don't announce it until you have all the fan fare ready to role. We are in the dark space between the two.
Apparently he got his medical done last night in Barcelona under Cugat due to the UK/Spain quarantine. My guess is a passed medical including a negative COVID-19 test means he can get the exemption like F1 and Real Madrid have to come over without quarantine. So I bet he's probably in Barcelona waiting on results on that (or flown over already!)
FWIW, I'm not ITK nor do I claim to be. Just a relatively logical guess as to whats going on according to press reports and how these things usually go

Someone compared him to Son and I honestly can't see past that now. Its uncanny. And I'm all for that as Son is a cracking player. Similar physique, pace and dribbling style.

Didn’t see that comparison until I saw you bring it up. Makes a lot of sense now. For my money, only son and possibly sancho would be be equal replacements for Sané. Think this one is really close to that level and 1/5th the price.

That's an interesting comparison although I would say Ferran is not as good at pressing and much more skilled with the ball at his feet than the Korean

His very similar to Sane in terms of his explosiveness when accelerating and the manner he runs with the ball. Not a stereotypical tippy tappy winger.

Better than mine. I was watching videos last night thinking he plays against senior players the way Brahim played against academy sides.

Not really, he's 20, already a very direct and energetic player. Bernardo's the only one of our wingers who arrived a natural presser. Mahrez got to grips with it as has Raheem. He'll learn and develop as he wants to, otherwise he'd have picked another club
