I had no issue with who he took off, it was throwing that bag of nerves Pusey into the game when Dias and Walker were on the bench that bothered me instantly. My heart sank a bit when I saw he was coming on.Pep certainly has things to answer for but he’d have been crucified if we get hammered by the dippers using players even more shagged out than they are now. If you can’t rest anyone when you’re 3-0 up against the Dog & Duck, 20 minutes to play and have a dressing room full of sick notes, when can you?
Criticise other stuff by all means but at least there was a logic:
- Gundo off: age has taken its toll and he’s playing far more minutes than he should.
- KDB on: patently not match fit so it was an opportunity to ease him back.
- Phil off: been looking a bit jaded this season and some suspect poorly.
- Nathan off. Only just back from injury and he’s needed for the dipper game.
- McAtee on: a rare chance to give him some minutes.
Some people want it every fcukin way but hindsight’s all too easy when pontificating on a forum. We don’t have that luxury in real life.
Dias should have been given 15 mins ahead of Anfeld. Feyenoord wouldn't even get their first goal with him there. Instead Pusey caused the chaos that gave Feyenoord a sniff and our shit confidence takes care of the rest.
You have to ask, if Dias isn't fit enough to play 15 mins in a game that's all but over, then why is he even on the bench? Bizarre from Pep tonight and absolutely suicidal shit from the players - Ederson and Gvardiol especially. A terrible end.
