Not sure how on earth we ever win a game anytime soon having witnessed that capitulation last night. How do you trust any of those players after what we saw?

3-0 at home, with 16 mins to go, against a team not even attacking us and who themselves had accepted defeat....and we cant even do the basics. KDB shuffling around (he sadly cant run now), McAtee gifting possession away for fun, Gvardiol again the oppo's most creative player, Grealish and Bernardo disappearing whilst Nunes simply isnt good enough if you are serious about contending for the big pots. Rico isnt a midfielder and Im not sure hes a reserve full back either on the evidence of this season.

Given we are a shambles at the moment you simply cannot put a kid on at centre half when he has no protection from a hold midfielder at all. Dias shouldve been on there - if he isnt fit dont put him on the bench.

Next chance to actually win a game is probably Everton on Boxing Day. Id buy a draw in the derby right now tbh, we are that bad. The manager looks like hes about to put his underpants on his head and a pencil up each nostril anytime too - Pep's body language and look of despair when we gifted away the first goal last night was very telling.

0 clean sheets in the last 6 games, and after a 2 week international break weve had 2 home games when we supposed to start righting the ship - and weve promptly conceded 7 goals on our own patch, with at least 5 of them absolute gifts.

We were 3-1 up until the fog came down and in the last ten minutes we conceded three! What I can't understand about that game was that, apart from not having Bert Trautmann in goal, we had Leivers 'n Ewing at the back. I've wondered whether the Wolves forwards picked the ball up and threw it into our goal three times.

You remember that game? Were you by any chance the bloke that brought those tablets down from the mountain after talking to God in the form of a burning bush?

Gvardiol is good going forward and linking up play. He needs to convince me he can defend. The fact you could make a good 3 minute video off his defensive howlers since joining city worries me.

To sum up last nigh, there were no leaders in defence, and no effective DM to link the team together and make a single cohesive unit in both defence and attacking phases of play. In essence, no heartbeat.

It's nobody's fault that injuries have seriously taken their toll this season. It's competitive, professional sport; it happens. We aren't entitled to win anything, and we shouldn't be behaving like spoiled children when we don't. Whatever transpires this season, we should be getting behind this team and the best manager in the world.

To be fair I think most are in shock mainly because what you are calling a difficult period is really a complete collapse. We're experiencing an utterly embarrassing loss of all form. A manager who has mainly always had it go his way seems completely lost for answers and if anything is contributing to this debacle with all type of dubious decisions one would not expect from someone with his track record. For many this collapse (and that's what it is no matter what anyone chooses to call it)_was as unexpected as it's been shocking. The fact that there is no indication that the club they've known for the past decade plus will be returning any time soon has created a panic among many supporters.
Personally I think we're in big trouble in terms being a top club competing for big honors with zero assurances that we'll get back to that level any time soon if ever. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic in recognizing we may be witnessing the end of an era. Again, all good things must come to an end but you can't necessarily blame our supporters for being in shock at the suddenness of this utterly shambolic collapse...JMO

That said anything derogatory anyone chooses to direct at me for giving my honest opinion will be a drop in the ocean compared to the pain I'm feeling watching this unfold. In the immortal words of Lord Tennyson "It's better to have dominated and lost then never to have dominated at all"...or something like that.

Most are in shock due to being a bit clueless about how football works. It's a game of probabilities, and sometimes an 1:100 000 event happens just because it is possible. For a Pep team to lose 5 games in a row and to fail to win the 6th after being 3 goals clear is such an event.

The bias that gets people astray is thinking that everything is logical. If we lose 5 games in a row, it's because we must be incredibly poor.

No, it is a combination of logical things (injuries, fatigue, mistakes) and sheer bad luck. Sometimes weirdly shit things happen.

That a Pep team will start winning at some point is one of the most certain things in football. Nothing is guaranteed, but we are likely to seriously improve over the course of the season.

Also, it's highly likely that we'll be back to competing for the big things next season. It's not guaranteed, but it's highly likely. It's how reality works.

Sorry but not a single manager in the world would think it's foolish and naive to bring on a kid at that stage. Managers have been doing that for decades in the CL to give them experience when in a comfortable lead. If you cant do that at 3-0 up when can you do it?

At least 2 of the goals were Gvardiol mistakes, the pass to McAtee with the players around him in the central defensive position was horrendous. For some reason we're panicking once the ball is in our half and we're under a bit of pressure and in the last couple of matches he seems to be the worst.

I think when we get the fully fit players back we'll be fine, Stones doesn't panic, Diaz doesn't panic, and some of the goals we've conceded have been half chances that normally wouldn't happen. I would put all three of their goals last night in that bracket but as we know more than most, when things are not going for you it's tough.

All fair comments, however, even when 3-0 up, we needed the confidence of a clean sheet (we've let 2 goals in 6 games in a row?) and there was no need to change the back 4. it's not like we haven't experienced late game collapses this season already.

For many this collapse (and that's what it is no matter what anyone chooses to call it)_was as unexpected as it's been shocking.

But your assumptions and opinions are based on this current run of form being a "collapse", which is a matter of semantics and therefore very hard to actually prove. It's quite easy to dismiss your view - which isn't particularly balanced anyway - because it's based on something that might not actually be true. You can keep saying it's a collapse over and over and over but that won't bring your vision of things into actuality. You can't just say "It's a collapse no matter what anyone says and I'm right" and expect anyone to take your POV seriously. The fact that you're claiming to be experiencing actual mental pain over this as well surely shows your opinion isn't completely rational. November has sucked arsed for City this season but talking about a run of six games where injuries have mounted up to unprecedented levels as if it's the end of days is making it quite hard for people to actually hear what you've got to say, especially when you simply won't hear an argument from the other side that things might level out soon and turn out alright.
