Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

I wouldn't be so sure. He sounds defeated in that interview and baffled as to what more he can do. One thing for sure is all the tactics in the world won't help when somebody makes criminal mistakes like Gvardiol did. He wasn't the only one, Akanji almost cost us in the first half too.
and second half. Passing to Akanji is like passing to a brick wall, it just bounces straight back to you

That's just in hindsight.

There were plenty of people in the match thread that wanted Gundogan off and people questioning all week why McAtee doesn't start.

It was 3 mistakes and they capitalised on all of them.

It happens. But we didn't lose.

We did lose though. We lost any belief and confidence we'd gained from all the hard work of going 3-0 up. Even worse it's put even more doubt and jitters into players already shell shocked by our recent dreadful run. On top of that it's made finishing in the top eight of the champions league group almost impossible. I think we have to win our three toughest games on paper to have a chance. It's probably a blessing in disguise as no way this group are anywhere near winning it this season.

hilarious that some on here will blame the players and not Pep.

If you make 3 subs on 75 mins at 3-0 and draw 3-3 that is on the managers toes.

Something rotten in that dressing room and the buck stops at one man. Well 2 actually - Txiki should be nowhere near the club when they look to sign somebody to save the season in January. LFC Utd Villa coming up in December and every club in Europe knows the weaknesses that can be exploited in this City team.
Complete nonsense.
Not one of the subs were at fault for the individual errors that led to the goals.

If you were a DOF and you see the manager staring, head down at the ground for nearly a minute when his team is leading 3-1 and they need some guidance and inspiration to see them over the line after FIVE consecutive losses, you may think the manager isn't doing his job properly.
Pep's reaction was way over the top. A serious lack of composure and a complete inability to settle his squad down...this show is over my friends...

I'm still stunned by that. At the moment every single mistake leads to a goal and that for me is the problem. We are not clinical with mistakes offered to us, whereas opposing sides are.

You reap what you sow, This is down to training or lack of it
City and Pep are down to the bare bones and that is why players are being allowed to get away with it.
Pep is cutting corners in training because he has to protect the players that are not fully fit or just coming back from injury

When you see Walker getting outrun and treading water you know he's not training fully, then you see players not pressing or wanting to put a tackle in or even rush the keeper that comes from not training and cutting corners

Pep would never let this sort of thing happen, He's the best manager in the world and he's letting players off the hook
Sorry manager should not let this happen,

If City are cutting corners and defending it with the success over the last 9 years then it's in a bigger mess than we all think, Rodri long term injury should never affect a club like this, it's poor right across the board for letting that sort of thing to happen

Come on! How many times has he coming steaming out 25 yards out of his area and got nowhere near the ball, I’ll tell you, too many times. If you cannot guarantee 100% that you can meet that ball and clear then you don’t go for it
How many times has he come steaming out and won it..it's a decision he has to make because the defence has parted like the red sea..
He's stopped plenty of attacks doing that and yes occasionally he will fuck up but he's not a clown of a keeper.
