We basically threw a game against Spurs in Carabao to have less games and will now probably end up having 2 more games as I'm doubting we can finish in top 8

That fucking Spuds game!

Can remember arguing on here cos people wanted full strength and all out to win.

It has completely blown our season, unbeaten before it and winless since.

No PL or CL starter should have played that game

lol my son and I were watching the replay. He's a keeper in college here in US. Said exactly that. If you're going to come out that far, its all or nothing. The ball and if not that, the man. Take the red. Ederson would have been better off punching the ball away. He led with his head and probably closed his eyes doing it because he wasn't even close.

I don't think he's ever been a great shot stopper and tonight I was at the game n there was so many opportunities to bang it long when Haaland was one on one with the CB n it didn't happen at all.

I can't say I'm ecstatic but I'm not angry about it. It's football and we're playing badly, low on confidence and not scoring goals we should be and conceding silly goals. We'll bounce back from this no doubt.

Up the blues win or lose.

Shite ending to a game we actually did alright in, not brilliantly in, just alright in up until their first goal and then it was as clear as day we’d crumble.

He was right to make changes at 3 nil with 15 minutes to go against a team that hadn’t troubled us whatsoever until they scored. But those frailties are going to be exposed time and again unfortunately. I wouldn't have expected our under 13’s to draw the game from that point in all honesty with some proper game management.

Individual mistakes gave those goals away tonight. But with a team low on confidence as soon as that first goes in we should have shut up shop, changed the shape and let the game run its course. Instead we just carried on with plan A, as it’s the only plan we have and well, you know the rest.

Our defensive shape is non existent and if we do bother to make a challenge it’s an apologetic one. I’d fucking love to know what we do in training. I suspect it’s rondo, rondo and a bit of rondo. We sure as hell aren’t practicing defensive work.

I’d play a 4 5 1 on Sunday, but actually a back 4. Not wing backs, inverted midfielders or any other complicated shit, not because it’s the scousers, but because we need to shore it up and stop the rot and the players we have currently available cannot defend whilst playing in this system. We saw tonight on occasion, admittedly against weaker opposition than usual, that if we play forward passes instead of twatting about side to side for 6 minutes to gain 40 yards we can actually create real chances, so going heavier at the back should help us in more ways than one.

When clubs get things wrong on the pitch they get them wrong; City end up with either a cataclysm, a catastrophe, Armageddon or, like tonight, a complete fuckin' meltdown.

I started watching a game of football and ended up watchin' a fuckin' pantomime. Had this been any other team I'd still be laughing at that defending - crass, amateurish, school playground calibre.

It's not the first time we've lost a 3 goal lead but I hope it's the last.

Next up at the Beswick Hippodrome is Nottingham Forest. Hope they have Maid fuckin' Marion in goal 'n Friar Tuck in the back four.

Not one of the subs were at fault for the individual errors that led to the goals.

Perhaps not, but, with all due respect to one of them, Macatee, my Mrs would have put in a better 30 minutes - and she's 7 months pregnant. He showed tonight why he isn't getting a game, despite our absolute crappiness, which started as he appeared - and did nothing.

It highlighted the shortcomings of our transfer and retention policy. Our 1st team academy players are rubbish/lightweight/untrusted - and Palmer, Harwood-Bellis, Delap, Lavia are all doing great, and could have been improving this team massively. It's fine getting rid of those 4, but, you have to bring in better, and we haven't. I'm ignoring the other senior players who wanted to leave.

It's incredible how complacent we've been, and how poor our acquisitions have been for the last 4 windows.

Anyway, what an interesting season we have all of a sudden!
