FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

I can't remember where on the FFP/Human Rights thread it states the different clubs punishments.

Isn't it just us and PSG that have the squad reduction punishment?

DEFINITIVE RULES ON WHAT COUNTS AS A HOMEGROWN PLAYER

Premier League Rule:
<a class="postlink" href="http://m.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2013-14.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://m.premierleague.com/content/dam/ ... 013-14.pdf</a>
A.1.81. “home Grown Player” means a Player who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been
registered with any Club (or club) affiliated to the Football Association or the Football
Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three Seasons or 36 months prior to
his 21st birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21) and for the purposes of
this definition of “Home Grown Player” a Season will be deemed to commence on the date
on which the first Transfer Window closes and expire on the date of the final League Match
of the Season;

UEFA Champions League Rules
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/09/88/17/2098817_DOWNLOAD.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Dow ... WNLOAD.pdf</a>
18.10 A “club-trained player” is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of
the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during
which he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been
registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire
seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant
national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant
national championship) or of 36 months.

This means that in season 2014/15 Matija Nastasić (Age 21, birthday 28th March) will be classified as a Foreign Player for the purposes of the Premier League and Champions League Squad purposes. He is 2 months too old.

Nastasic is B list because he is considered under21 by UEFA's definition and has been at the club for two years, the rules you have posted are criteria for the A list.

No such thing as a B list in the Premier League so he counts in the list of 17 foreign players for that.
Do you reckon we'll let Nastasic ONLY play in the Champions League (and possibly the League Cup and FA Cup - I haven't checked on those competitions rules) but not in the Premier League?
Nice in theory but in practice...

Do you reckon we'll buy a foreign player who can only play in the Champions League (and possibly the League Cup and FA Cup - I haven't checked on those competitions rules) but not in the Premier League?

You sure he has to be named in the 17 for PL? Is he not under21 by PL rules too?

By the Premier League rules (see above) he is no longer U21 in season 2014-15 and is therefore classed as a foreign player and therefore counts as one of the 17 foreign players that can be part of a Premier League squad.

I believe you've got that wrong mate

"An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences."

Nastasic was 20 years old on that date therefore doesn't have to be named in the PL squad to be eligible to play.

How many players did we post in the CL last year?
Nasty was certainly a foreign trained player in last season's CL A list. One of 16 such. Not even the most ardent 'Nasty for the 2014/15 B List' advocate has disagreed with that. In total there were 24 players eligible for the A list with one Club Trained vacancy - which was left surprisingly unfilled by Guidetti.
