FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

Still expect 1-2 foreign players to miss out on CL squad.

We have more than 16 of those players probably end of the transfer window.

5 homegrown, Hart, Clichy, Richards, Milner, Boyata, Rodwell, Sinclair.
Richards/Sinclair 100% to leave.
Milner, I dont know, doubt he would sign a new contract, but dont like the idea of him walking for free next season.

Hart, Clichy, Boyata, Milner, Rodwell, this could be our 5 home grown players in the CL squad. If we get a second GK that is English than it would be Boyata to make way for him, but is Hart 100% club grown too not just home grown by Uefa rules?c If he is than its ok and it could be Hart, second English GK, Clichy, Rodwell, Milner.

Still if we get Sagna, fernando, Benatia and maybe another foreign player like a second GK or a winger type, and no foreign players leave thats between 1-3 players over the foreign quota so 1-3 foreign players wont be included.

But this would be nearly a problem if we dont have any restriction as the original rule is 17+8, and having 18-19 foreign players would result the same...

Why would we get a foreign trained goalie given our restrictions? Absolute worst case scenario is we name Richard Wright (or 1 of the EDS goalies) as the 2nd required goalie (no offence to any of them).

As posted earlier, presuming Sagna & Fernando are done deals and we bring in a FT CB :-

Dont know what second GK comes, there rumours about it being foreign, like Caballero or the was that Rulli guy from Argentina, obviously a home grown would be the best. (One that is at least on the level of Pantilimon or better than him or maybe can challenge or scare Hart:D.)

RAWK have more to say than the rags/gooners so far. Some proper little hissy fits going on, which is a bit fucking rich coming from a club who would have fallen foul of FFP if they had actually been in Europe last year.

The funniest part is them arguing that it's a bonus. Like losing both homegrown and foreign player spots somehow benefits us.

Can't tell if they're lying or just stupid.

I was tempted to register to put them straight but they'd never accept it. If they want an even better deal than us then they just need to submit a 21 man squad which would be 17 FT + 4 of any HG type.

I think we should be focusing more on selecting homegrown players - but keepers within the club will struggle to oust Hart - and any established keeper worth his salt wouldn't dare try to rival him for a starting berth.

I'd like to apologise to certain posters who I berated for predicting FFP wouldn't affect us when the sanctions were first disclosed. I panicked like a little woman and should have stayed calm like a lot of the more informed posters on here.

Depends if they ban your email address or the IP address. The email address is obvious, just create a new one, some allow you to create multiple addresses from 1 account I think. The IP address can be got around as well although that may cost you a monthly/yearly fee.

Depends if they ban your email address or the IP address. The email address is obvious, just create a new one, some allow you to create multiple addresses from 1 account I think. The IP address can be got around as well although that may cost you a monthly/yearly fee.

Just managed to get back in (deleted history) . Happy to read the comments my original post provoked - nothing like a bit of home truth to stir the shit up. Regarding the FFP and City it is almost an obsession on RAWK - there really is no point in any City posters (well meaning or not) going on there as it is an exercise in futility

A gracious apology but not required - you were 100% correct then as you still are now when the full implications are becoming clearer. The FFP restrictions have significantly affected our ability to achieve our prime objective for the coming season both in terms of the quality and the depth of our squad in the CL. It could have been a lot worse but the attack on us is still damaging. No point in trying to disguise the facts.
