FFP - Scudamore Says Carry On Regardless

I'm absolutely convinced that UEFA's FFP restricts a company from practicing it's business. If that particular company wants to fuck it's finances up then that's up to them.

Who are UEFA to dictate what a company can and can't do in the way it generates revenue and spends and invests money. Platini can fuck right off.

The thing is, they are not telling compainies how to operate. They are just saying you cannot enter their competition if you dont operate how they would like.

Well that is a restrictive practice then isn't it! In my opinion, UEFA have no right to dictate how a business is run. The Premier League and the FA don't invoke such restrictive financial regulations even though (apparently!) they do run the infamous "fit and proper" tests over prospective club buyers.

Sustainable growth is what we are aiming to achieve, the fact we have become premier league champs means we are now in a vastly superior position to market the club and maximise income streams from far east etc, hence the tour this summer.

No it isnt. It is their competition. They are not and could not tell anybody how to operate. Simple really.

I honestly don't think we'll have any trouble complying with it, but even if we did.. can you imagine Heineken, Mastercard, etc. etc. being happy that the Champions League would not feature Aguero, Silva, Yaya, Kompany? (and many many other stars from clubs who won't balance the books). Do you think UEFA will want to piss off their main sponsors? Money and sponsorship is what they're all about. Just check the Champions League final ticket allocation (and prices!) if you're not convinced.

A quiet phone call to Monsieur Platini from the head honcho in Heineken or equivalent and this will all be 'amended'.

They're all full of shit.

FFP will have a much harsher impact on the likes of Everton, Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle etc. than on us. They can't even dare to dream now.

A lot of people are starting to see it for what it is - the likes of Bayern Munich, United, Barca, Real bolting the door behind them... it's a farce and a scandal.
it's going to mean TV revenues going down in the long run as 'fans' get bored watching the same teams 'compete' for the same prize year in year out

it's already started to have an impact on attendances to the group games

and as domestic leagues become a procession for the same teams people will get bored

there is a reason this year's PL race has been the best ever

Totally agree. My ONLY point was that they are not and could not tell a company how to operate.

No offence taken buddy.

If Chelsea miss out this season then we may see what happens if they get back in next season - they operate losses already so how they can go out and buy big to get back in ????

Also it will be interesting to see if teams like Anzhi, PSG. Malaga etc get on in next two years as they will never bring in the revenue we do from their leagues.

it won't be City who force UEFA on this
