I've been playing friendlies with the big clubs as well, same problems, my problem with League 1 was purely the Be a Pro mode's stupidity.

Never mind then, all I can say is when I play I don't have any problems other than Kompany not being a 99 overall.

I recommend playing 4-2-2-2 with ultra attacking from the start. It'll possibly work with other formations but i'm experimenting alot currently. In the past 15 games on ultimate team, i've won 12 of them, drawn 2 and lost 1.

I've played fifa games on and off for years sometimes missing 2-3 years out and then only playing infrequently.

I had '11 until recently that I judged to be okay, and today in Game I saw '13 Ultimate Edition for £5.99 and so with the credit on my store card got it for £1.43 !!
At least City will be shit hot ! :)))

I've not played it yet but from what I'm gathering it is better than 14 but what do you lot think is the best fifa game?

14 is better than 13.

We played before? I generally play 4 at the back unless my inner child gets frustrated and I end up changing it around to please his needs.

And why do they spend so much time amending things that you can barely even notice? Can they not just get rid of replays and things to keep the game flowing quickly? I'm not arsed about a close up of some bloke every few seconds of the second half whilst he gets substituted

Is there any way of editing a player? some of the players are shockingly low, Nastasic, Coleman, Lukaku, Benteke. It's rubbish that you can't see a players rating until he's signed.

I know, in what world does a football club not know how good many players are in the top leagues?

This "scouting" malarky is stupid, it should be reserved for much lesser well known players.

Even if you don't know exactly how good a player is you know generally how good he is.

Pointless when you go out to the main menu, go and browse a list of players you want for that team, go back into manager mode and type them all in and buy some of them.

The AI doesn't seem to need any time at all to scout every player in the game and start buying.

Played a few hours of it yesterday and think i'll trade it in. The players are just atrocious at controlling the ball and the passes are so slow. If its raining its like the players are running in treacle. Someone posted the other day saying it rewards long balls over the top as opposed to passing, it definatley does.

I usually played on Legendary, but having played the demo I went with world class setting first of all to get accustomed to the changes, I was 5-0 down at home to Newcastle after 30 mins. Having already lost pre-season friendlies to Betis (3-2) and Monchengladbach (4-0), I fucked it off.

Seriously tho, the goals i conceded were literally every shot on goal, everytime i had the ball i lost it straight away, and i was trying to keep it simple, retaining possession, but eventually someone takes a bad touch you lose it the opponent breaks, you cant catch them, they score.

i resorted to lofted through balls and had a lot more success.

You need to give it time and adapt your style of play. For me in fifa 13 I would keep the ball close and dribble round defenders for fun. You can't do that on fifa 14 but there are new ways you can attack such as over the top through ball.
