Re: Fifa 14 Demo

I really do wonder if EA have a QA team and if they do they must be a bunch of useless yes men who just say everything is wonderful because you need only play this game for an hour to come up with an A4 side of paper worth of problems that need fixing. I had the early access for a week and I've decided I will not be buying this game, the first FIFA game I won't be getting. I'm not giving them 40 of my hard earned pounds for a half arsed, broken mediocre game. I'll wait until I can get my hands on the PS4 version see if thats any better.

they've ruined manager mode, and they need an option to terminate a loan as a player in the be a pro career as I went on loan to Preston who then decided to buy 2 more strikers for some stupid reason and end up with 6 strikers on the books and I wasn't getting a game, pointless.

Shooting and passing is all unpredictable and the game goes from really lovely free-flowing to being really clunky with poor passes and heavy first touches and movement for no reason.

Also I don't know what they've done to semi-pro but it's more like professional in 13.

The camera angles are crap,, Iv always played with dynamic camera, zoomed in... This is now shit.

I really don't understand why FIFA is so popular, but alot of what I have heard is that it is becuase Pro Evo doesn't have all the teams/players/stadiums.

But in the end who really cares?

Surely gameplay wins overall.

I admit I am a Pro Evo player from way back. Pro Evo 4 and 5 were in my opinion the best. Then they lost track for a few years, but last years version was very good gameplay wise. I have played FIFA through the years as every other man and his dog has it. However,
gameplay wise it still doesn't feel right. Maybe I'm biased but at least I've tried playing both, whereas the majority of FIFA players write off Pro Evo because of the reasons mentioned without even playing it. Anyway options files fix most of these things easily.

I only ever play any of these games against my housemates. Playing against the AI is pointless, and playing online is the same as everyone simply picks the better teams. It makes it increasingly boring. When I play against my housemates, we have a rule - you have three chances to pick a random team by holding the square button down. Then you pick the best out of your three options. Keeps it interesting and means you have games where people don't just rely on a star studded line up to win, that is, unless you happen to be lucky and pick City.

What!

You can't pick the best out of the three!

You press square, then decide whether to stick or twist. If you twist you press square again and then choose to stick or twist again. If you're still not happy you get to press square one last time but then you're stuck with whoever you get. No going back!

Makes for some interesting ties and becomes more tactical. If you're Finland playing against England you're not going to go all out attack, makes it more realistic.

Not getting this until Monday but sounds worryingly bad. What I would say is that every version after 09 I have spent the first week or so pretty pissed off thinking they have made the game worse only to eventually get used to the changes and realise they have made it better. Hopefully this is the case this time.
