Are you making you are changing it from default to current customised? On the career mode screen where you decide difficulty and minutes, it also changes back to default after you add European competition so make sure u change it again

The game also seems to reward people who want to play long balls over the top for quick players to run onto and punish people who want to play short intricate football. I'm finding it difficult to keep possession in tight areas because of how inconsistent the passing can be and how bad everyone's first touch is.
The game is heavily suited to people who want to put 9 men behind the ball and hoof it clear towards Ronaldo on the break. Getting it wide and putting in cross after cross has also been made more effective (even more so than it was).
I don't understand people saying it's more of a simulation. It now requires much less football intelligence to play (and there's nothing intelligent about passing around the back 4 for 30 seconds before playing a long ball over the top as someone claimed before, haha).

It says that but let's you continue anyway doesn't it? If u have Xbox live go on eas catalogue and you can buy something that allows you to edit players in career mode if it's the boots and stuff u want to change

It lets you continue but it automatically changed to default squads.
When I try move across the menu in career mode and click once it annoyingly moves twice for some reason.
