FIFA/UEFA Investigations

Platini seemingly doesn’t see any reasons why he shouldn’t be elected the next FIFA head and Blatter thinks he’s being victimised - If these views are not the vilest evidence of sickening hubris there's no such thing.

In fairness I do think that Platini is a fair candidate and Blatter is being bullied. Do people not realise who they are?

People have now realised exactly who they are! A pair of lying, cheating, thieving, bent cunts.

Agreed but they still don't see it that way. Black is white as far as they are concerned and for some reason expect the public to believe them.

They seem to have been indoctrinated by their own hype in still feeling they are untouchable (their hubris as a recent post accurately described it). They can no longer hide behind the old Swiss law which protected them but they don't seem to have grasped that.

Perhaps the seriousness of the recent events has not dawned on them yet. By all means react to the internal disciplinary ban but they seem to think more about their position within the corrupt organisations they front rather than be fearful of repercussions regarding their involvement in the suspect operations that are currently being investigated.

And our very own FA are still supporting Platini. The corruption lies deep!

For me, the BBC football page tells a lot about where we as a footballing nation stand. Today, leading football figures are meeting to discuss the FIFA corruption issue. Germany have voiced their concerns over Platini's role in it all and his suitability to get the FIFA job, Issa Hiyatou takes control today in the absence of Blatter and yet almost every main article on the BBC is about the prices of match tickets for fans.

We've known this for how long and surely it could have waited until tomorrow or Monday. With the FA backing Platini, Hodgson up to his nostrils in allegations (which again are ignored) and the BBC choosing an easy win with the public, it makes me wonder what the fuck is going on in this country.

It is absolutely incredulous that anyone associated with current football governance (including in our FA) is not implicated, to a great or lesser degree, in the corruption clearly endemic within FIFA. It's been going on for far too long for officials to plead ignorance - they're either participants or have turned a blind eye and therefore just as culpable - end of!

FIFA have decided not to have a press conference after their extraordinary meeting. Talk about 'Fair and Transparent'

There is a massive power vacuum at FIFA right now. Blatter would have had his yes men in every position with any significance so it is highly probably that all those in any capacity to sort out the mess are themselves deeply involved with the former regime. What it needs is a full clear out and start again however FIFA is unaccountable to anyone so no one has any overriding authority to go in and sort it out.

What might work is an EU level enquiry into National and European Football across Europe. That way all the various FAs from around the EU could be hauled in and asked to explain their dealings with Uefa and Fifa. That might flag up some interesting discussion points.
