I only remember it because I worked with a guy from Oldham on Manchester Liners in the seventies who used to talk about it. Geoff his name was, mixed race guy.

I actually lived in Rochdale for a while, but Oldham was generally a decent drinking town and certainly better clubs then..Plus there was a direct bus route so getting there was easy, getting back somewhat shit faced was sometimes an issue though.....

It’s easy to blame cocaine for every shitty incident that takes place on a match day but it’s more likely cunts just being cunts because, well they are cunts.

People would be surprised how many people take cocaine and wouldn’t realise that they did.

I don’t like people always blaming drugs for stuff like this.

Nobody in English football’s hooligan heyday was taking cocaine. It just wasn’t around then, even as recently as the 90s people took speed more than coke.

I probably wouldn't look too closely at what is sold as coke, it's probably more speed than anything else!

But the issue with amphetamines isn't really the amphetamine itself, not how it's taken in this country, it's the fact it allows you to drink more and for longer.

I agree that even then you've got to be a bit of a knobhead looking for a scrap, though.

Nah speed is too expensive to use when cutting. Lacto is much cheaper apparently….
