Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

As we knew all along, the G14 called the shots.

Platini fights back against the blue tide...

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

These rules are meant to prevent clubs going bankrupt, allegedly. Now forgive me for asking what is probably pretty stupid question, but are there any regulations anywhere else in the world preventing, I dunno... say Coca Cola or Shell or Apple, from going bankrupt?

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

Very alarming interview which confirms corruption is deep rooted at UEFA as well as FIFA.

Did we ever doubt the G14 was running the show?

The EU can govern on the shape of banana's but can't resolve the corruption in a multi billion euro industry. Sickening!

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

So they will never let us in the cozy club of the G14 even when we are the biggest club in the world?

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

So everything we knew basically. Why am I not surprised that the G14 run the show..And Platini you corrupt w@nker, the sooner you are out the better.. Brilliant interview though, props to Martin Samuel!

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

That is an extraordinary performance by Platini - can you imagine an MP, Company Director, head of an NGO, Union, public body, trade association, anything, not having answers to so many questions, being so flippant, getting so many things wrong, acting like he doesn't care? in any other industry it would be the end of your career. But it's football, it's UEFA. Our governments give them dispensation to be above the law, and UEFA maintain that by threats to throw us out of National and Club tournaments, ban others who play with us. They are a mob.

One of the most ludicrous aspects of Platini's 'defence' of FFP is his repeated squawking (in this and other interviews) of: "But they want this! The clubs want this!"

It's just bizzare: Why wouldn't the highest earning clubs allow some minor controls over their spending, in return for a locked-in guarantee of revenue & power indefinitely?

"I've got to ask Ruminegge" - It's just laughable. Just hope the European courts see this racketeering for what it is, and obliterate it.
