Firework?

This myth that they are loyal supporters despite the fact their ground was always half full in the 80s. I remember we went to their place and they only has 17 000 fans in the ground 3000 of them were Everton fans. What Geordies do not understand is that they only have 1 club to compete with in terms of supporters and even they are 10 miles away. There is only 1 club in Newcastle meaning everybody supports them and Sunderland have been shit for years anyway. Everton and City have to compete with Liverpool and United for supporters the 2 biggest and most successful clubs in England. Not to mention all the other clubs in the North West. Everyone outside of Sunderland in the North East supports Newcastle even people in Scotland and Yorkshire. The only reason why Newcastle have a large support is down to geography not down to to how loyal your fans are.

Standup,

Appropriate nic when considering the above.

Sunderland happen to have a fair chunk of the North East support. Including a lot of Geordies who follow us from South Tyneside and Northumberland (North of Newcastle). Plus, about 3/4 of Durham follow us, and some of Teeside (Billingham, Stockton, Hartlepool way).

Everton have to compete with Liverpool? Maybe so, but you haven't endured season after season outside the top flight like us. So there you are. Balances it out.

And to the Geordie talking about knives at the reserve match - what a load of shite. Rumours mate, ill informed rumours at that.

All in all, considering Sunderland have finished top 10 3 times in 50 years, I think it's fair to say we have a good following. We're no Barcelona, but we'd measure up against most quite well in this country.

Anyway gents, taking up space, but thought I'd take the time to the put a few things straight.

Looking good for the season by the way.

Firework went off about three rows behind me, it was that loud could feel it in my stomach. Now I don't advocate violence, I always try to find a reasonable solution to problems as such. But I happened to bump into one of the twats giving it the big un behind the stewards near the train station. And yes I'm ashamed to say it I banjoed the twunt, think the firework thing just fired me up. I'm not bigging myself up, and I'm not proud of what I did, but I've not been that wound up at a game in a long time.

People like you should be banned from all football matches.

You were wound up, so you battered an opposition fan after the game. You're not poud of it, but you thought you'd post about it on the internet afterwards.

There isn't much difference between you and the idiot who threw the firework.

Haha class, I wouldn't call it a battering just a dig. same cnut threw a coin that hit my dad in the face, so yes I was kind of wound up. And putting me in the bracket as the knob that threw the firework, you couldn't fuckin make it up hahahahaha.

You didn't hit the person who threw the firework or the coin. You hit someone who you don't know because you were pissed off.

"The fans" didn't throw the firework, one idiot did. The same kind of idiot who would be likely to punch a stranger in the face.

Seems they don't like to lose.

Anyway, they have always been the same: you'd think after all this time that practice makes perfect.

There is a few clubs who are similar and Newcastle, City, Everton etc are in that bracket.

I like Geordies, it's a great club but you are bound, proportionally, to get the odd fool. I was nowhere near but the firework was pretty bad. An indiscriminate assault that should carry a very heavy sentence for the culprit. I've been up there umpteen times for games and no problem.

Nevertheless, the Everton is right also, it's easy when it's a one club town with massive hinterlands when the next club is in Sweden. They are under no pressure as a result.

The only club under that competition that comes close to us over the years is Everton.

This plus 1!!! Ask them how many of their "loyal" fucking supporters were there when Bournemouth knocked them out of the cup and they decided to invade the pitch and trash the goal posts. Newcastle fans are more fucking fickle than any set of supporters. Go when they are winning/don't when they are losing. Fucking scruffy cunts!

Haha are you mad, what part of "the same cnut threw a coin that hit my dad in the face" did you not understand.

newcastle fans are no " greater " than any other. in comparison any club's fans could claim to be as loyal. as standupefc said they are a one city one club fanbase and few if any other cities have this. imagine city being the only club in manchester ( yes i know they are !!! ) or everton being the only merseyside club - gates of each would be near 60-70,000. but as a whole they are a friendly breed and would share their last firework with you !!
