First Away Game

Gillingham 99 play off final if that counts as away, I'd have been about 11. My first proper away day would have been when I was 18/19, me and a few mates started by doing a few of the more local games that were common fixtures in that period with the likes of Blackburn, bolton, wigan were all in the premier league. I actually think preston in the cup around mid-late 2000's was my first.

Blackpool 1971 , 3 3 , 1 3 down scored twice in last 10 minutes, felt like a win. Doesn't really count as I lived on the Fylde. First proper away Leeds same year lost 3 0, shit myself it was very dodgy.

Was that the day Macken scored from the halfway line?

OT Fa Cup 1970 lost 3-0 on the pitch but took absolute liberties off the pitch

Derby County 20 September 1975. Got beat 1-0. Only 13 years old. Couple of us went and I was the oldest. No concessions in the away section iirc and we didn't have enough money so had to walk round the ground and pay into the Junior section with the home fans. Shame I had a City duffle bag with me...

Blackpool at home in 1963. It was a 3-0 win for the Tangerines.

Brighton away 1983. Won 1-0 to put them down and give ourselves a great chance of staying up. Can’t remember what happened next.
