First ever Manchester Derby final

Has any team ever lost a final without conceding a single goal in open play through out the comp ,the only way possible I could see them beating us is pens
United lost the final in 2018 after only conceding 1 goal before the final.
City lost the final in 2013 after only conceding 1 goal before the final.
United lost the final in 2005 after only conceding 1 goal before the final.
Liverpool lost in the final in 1988 after only conceding 1 goal before the final.

That’s the best I can do to answer your question, they are all from 1980 onwards so nobody has done what we’ve done and lost from 1980 onwards. There are many years where I can’t find the info on goals conceded on the road to the final without proper going into everyone’s season-by-season records.

It should be noted that City broke a few records in the Champions League in 2020-21 before losing the final to Chelsea:

Longest winning run in UEFA competitions: 7
9th December 2020 – 4th May 2021
(record by an English team)

Most wins in UEFA Champions League in a season: 11
2020-21 season
(record by an English team)

We won 11 of 12 games on the road to the 2021 CL final and the other was a draw, then lost the final.

I've just had to get off parts of social media arguing with rag pricks about the Sheffield attendance. My fucking blood pressure! One guy I've known years, typical plastic and really got to me. I swear I would happily kill the **** right now.
They’re thick as fuck.

City are in the same region of the country as two of the best supported sports teams in the world. Even when you take away that United and Liverpool are the two biggest supported clubs in the region, you can add in all the London and Home Counties fans, Irish, Scandies and anywhere else their sad act glory support comes from and they can easily fill the gaps when all the Greater Manchester working class fans can’t afford to attend.

Because of finances, I had to choose between Bayern at home and Wembley this month and chose Bayern.

City are just a regional club that have the same core of about 40,000 fans going to Wembley at least over two games a year every year for 13 years running. We don’t have hordes of nobodies to take my place at Wembley. But I’d rather have our support with a few empty seats over their support with a population of nobodies who have no affiliation with Manchester in any way whatsoever, or any affiliation with United other than it being a club they can attach themselves to to get some reflected glory in their lives, any day. ‘20+3’ when they come from Hackney means fuck all.

I was at Wembley in 2011 when we played that lot, I barely heard a Manchester accent on anyone in a red shirt all fucking day. Getting called a ‘NORVVERN CANT’ and being offered out wit the line ‘CAM ON DEN YOU MAYNC CANT’.

I actually believe we sold most of our allocation, Sheffield didn't and then we had the 20,000 seats that go to other associations. They didn't sell because everyone knew the result was probably a foregone conclusion and Sheffield would just defend, making it boring. We also have that middle section of Wembley members who never turn up except for the glamour games. We did our bit it's not up to us to fill the rest of Wembley.
