First Ferran Soriano interview

I don't know who is hung up on things. I'm certainly only interested in what is best for the club going forward. How we act, what we represent, whats important to us. I've not criticised the club once for sacking Mancini, and have said several times that hiring and firing is the right of the people in charge. I'll judge the effectiveness of those sort of decisions down the line, based on performances and results not soundbytes and spin though.

I see quite a lot of comment about any criticism of the club being a defence of Mancini, in most cases it has nothing to do with it. Maybe people need to accept that criticism of the club and/or its employees isn't necessarily a defence of the former manager.

I should add that I have no problem with Soriano, since I watched that Barca doco I've been looking forward with to seeing what he (and Txiki) can do at the club. That remains the case and I'm pleased to have them both at the club. And as I mentioned in my post that started this that IMO I don't think he has been neglecting the supporters.

Just that I do see it as a key part of his job. I suspect he will be only too aware as well that if he doesn't have the supporters on side, his job implementing the plans and vision of Sheikh Mansour will be ten times as hard.

And no matter what anyone says, I'll never see the clubs as anything other than mine. And IMO that entitles me to criticise or question people involved in the club (including the person who does legally own the club) if and when I think it's due.
Apologies that wasn't aimed at you, it was a general comment on things I've heard, some read on here, but more particularly from my own extended family. Ironically they continue to go on about the last 30-45 years, and how Mancini should still be here because he won us 2 trophies, something 20+ others hadn't managed, but then they fail to look to the longer term, where a handful of future coaches may bring us 20+ trophies in half the time.

The foundations are in place, and we are building on them quickly, anyone who doesn't see this from interviews like this, just don't understand where Sheik Mansour is taking us. There will be the odd setback like this years cup final, and our lack of competitiveness in the league this year, but they will be the exception imho.

Does anybody know where i might be able to download the Barca documentary people keep talking about. Also the title of the book they wrote?

There's a Barca documentary on YouTube around the time that they sign Ronaldinho if that's the one you are talking about.

Soriano's book is called Goal: The ball doesn't go in by chance.

The doco is at <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQPnbML1WFY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQPnbML1WFY</a>

A very good watch, quite insightful.

I don't think anyone genuinely holds that belief,it's more of an emotive response to the fact both recognised Mancini's limitations and were instrumental in his departure.
In the eyes of his fanclub the Spaniards are to blame for removing their pinup.

The class way to do things is by keeping quiet and going about your business plan without blabbing it to all and sundry.

He has made a rod for his own back and City by giving the world media a stick to hit us with if it all goes tits up.

He also has had a right go at Bobby in the public domain, double standards as far as I can see. Ferran did NOT have to air our dirty washing in public but he chose to do so.

Bobby up to this moment has chosen to keep his council and I respect hihenm for that,we are in the entertainment industrie, man up ,we are going to the top ,it will NOT go tits up ,

Oh.

Six is a lot. More than six would be a very bad idea. The Clueless One's QPR window should teach you that.

There's a rag on Talk Shite pretending to be a blue. He said City won't win five trophies in five years because, amongst other things, another club might be bought by Arabs andwhat then? What a rag twat.
