First game....

3-0 home win against Ron Atkinsons Villa in 94....we gave em a standing ovation for beating the rags week before in the league cup final, they where going for the first domestic treble (only a top team could achieve such greatness;)
Two things happened that day, I was blue for life & would always hate the scum

Cheers mate.....seems to be full of rags in that particular game, I was hoping to see something different ..oh well
Little or no segregation at that game my first derby but saw very little mither. Lot of rags in the corner nearest main stand as they tried to come out were pelted with bricks left about from the building would you believe. A draw that felt like a win as we had come back from two goals behind and had equalised with virtually the last kick, think it was Mike Summerbee. If I'm wrong again blame an old man's memory. Even after all these years can say it was one of the best games I've ever seen, was 14 at the time.

On YouTube November 71/72 season City 3 Rags 3,I was stood in the North stand that day the last 63,000 crowd at Maine rd seats put in following season, capacity then 54,000.

One of the greatest Manchester derby matches ever that was .... It has never left my memory , like so many lesser derby games have.

Both sides went at it 'hammer and tong' all the way through, right to the death .... and the noise from the crowd was something else.

The first game I can remember going to was against Blackpool in the 70-71 season, I was 7. I used to go with my uncle, my dad used to give him £1, which was train fare, entrance money and dinner at Lewis's. Used to go maybe 4 times a season during the seventies and remember that we had an awesome home record, I never saw them lose. Great days, this premier league is pish, preferred my football in the seventies.

United 3 Burnley 2 in Nov 74 followed by City 5 Newcastle 1 in Jan 1975, my dad went to both stadiums with his pals alternate weeks when I was a boy. Gave me the choice and I've never regretted it. (since 2011 anyway)

Bolton v city league cup tie 1971, went with my mate who was a city fan, his dad who drove a Bolton fan and his younger brother a Utd fan, the M62 had just opened around that time, so we went on it, took about 1 1/2 hrs to reach manchester then about 1hr to Bolton with all the city fans on the road, most left cars on the dual carriageway near the ground, must have been about 20k from the city but got beat 3-0 and a city fan scored all 3 goals, jones was his name

3-1 defeat to Shrewsbury I think at Maine Road. 1987 maybe? I fell asleep anyway as I was 6 so didn't miss much.

December 76? Was with my Uncle Vincent..was my bday present.....was amazed as a small guy.. 1-1 v Liverpool we found a radio on the Kippax on the floor...he had a walking stick and we saved it with him holding it with his stick .... I'm sure I still have it ...
