I did wonder when you said Butterfields. I used to go in Butterworth's a lot on Saturday lunchtimes before going for a few pints. Always had two puddings, chips and peas with gravy, mmmmm. Great stomach lining.

Talking about chippys, Hollins chippy in Middleton do a very large pea fritter which is to die for.
Not sure how much it was cos my wife paid, and she’s not talking to me now as I didn’t save her any

I haven't had pudding chips peas and gravy since about 1987. Fucking love it.
They just don't have babies heads down under.

Think my local chippy has changed the oil. Gone from great to shite overnight.

Our local chippie did the same thing. We dont use it anymore since the new oil, its all oily and i think he has lowered the cooking heat as well. The batter is shit as well and is never crispy
