Fish

I can eat pretty much fish and seafood dish with the exception of farmed fish especially octopus.

If I’m in France a large Plateau de fruits de mer is banging

My fave fish dish we cook is either a decent Cod Loin or Halibut steak with potted shrimp and brown butter sauce and Jersey Royals however sourcing decent fish is becoming harder and the cost means it’s a rare treat nowadays.

Oh and freshly grilled sardines are just the dogs however my Maud hates them so it’s a holiday treat only.

Milk, butter, salt and add a half teaspoon of ground nutmeg. Believe me it makes a beautiful difference.

At the risk of turning this thread into a cooking argument, like I said, I know how to make mashed fucking potato - including the magical addition of nutmeg that every **** knows.

It’s just…..fine.

Not awful, just not interesting. Why eat mash when you can cook potatoes in far more interesting ways.

Pickerel or Walleye (as some folk call it) is the best tasting fish I have ever had. Fresh from the lake and eaten within a couple of hours of being tricked into the boat.
People up here are catching so much of it they are giving it away.
I haven't had to get my rod out all season.
For a fresh water fish, Walleye is hard to beat. Caught some great tasting Lake trout on Yellowstone lake but most of it isn’t that good
