Fixtures Calendar - 2021/22

Spurs, Leicester, Chelsea, United, Liverpool first 5/6 aways. Will take that

A conspiracy theorist may think that the Premier League are hoping that by starting the season with our most difficult games, it might just keep the title race alive - and have more teams in with a shout - for longer. Just saying’ ;-)

I know we have to play everyone but I’m very disappointed with such a tough opening fixture. A defeat would set the tone of the season badly and give the media more ammunition to wank about rags and Chelsea.

A nice home fixture against Norwich would have eased us back into things.

bad start puts more pressure on every game there after we ain’t going to do what we did last again that’s a one of scum as usual get there usual knee up!
Swings and roundabouts, Top heavy start gives us an easier run in, it's 38 games if we are good enough and I think we will be we'll win it.

Calendar updated in the first post ...

What jumps out is Chelsea (A) and Liverpool (A) sandwich the second CL group game ... watch Bayern or PSG away drop in there now ...

The Liverpool (H) is sandwiched between the two legs of the CL QF.

Leeds (A) sandwiched between the CL SF legs.

Leicester (A) straight after the first (stupid) International Break.

United (A) after the fourth CL group game.
Equally, Chelsea and Liverpool have us at home around their CL games. Liverpool have us away in the CL QF week. United have us straight after a CL group game...

Up to us to do our job.

Liverpool have a tough Christmas, Chelsea have a tough start and tough January and their last 3 away games are Leeds, Everton and the Rags. The Rags have a tough October/November around CL games and again in March as their big games are all in successive weekends, so each team can look at it a certain way.

We've won the league from a chasing position four times out of of the five we've won. The only time we ever got a "good start" and won the league from a leading position was the 100 points season.

11/12 - 8 points behind with six games left, won the league.
12/13 - Unbeaten until December, finished 2nd.
13/14 - 8th in November, 9 points behind with five games left, won the league.
14/15 - Top of the league on New Years Day, finished 2nd.
15/16 - Won our first five games without conceding a goal, finished 4th.
16/17 - Won our first six games, finished 3rd.
17/18 - Dominated the league, won the league.
18/19 - 7 points behind in January, won the league.
19/20 - Never really got going, Liverpool run away with it, finished 2nd.
20/21 - 13th in November, first day in 1st place was January 26th, won the league.

Point is, "more pressure after a bad start", "less pressure after a good start" - neither of them have a bearing on the rest of the season. It's about the 38 games as a whole, during which so much can happen that sitting here complaining about United getting a "knee up" is basically pointless. Enjoy the ride a bit more, eh?

Jeez, the conspiracies on here. Big away games out of the way, a decent set of games prior to that and then a relatively easy (on paper) run in.

It’s definitely fixed in order to make for a better title race.

They have made our start tough, but that’s ok.

If we can stay in or thereabouts at Xmas, we have to really fancy it.

Overall I’m ok with it!

And United (H) could be just before the 2nd leg of CL R16 (see calendar, it has two dates so we won't know when we play till December when draw and dates are out)
Top stuff as always.

90% of the dates on the calander will be changed either through TV moves or progression in comps.

If the new pitch needs time I hope we request an away game first.

Noticed all the pics of the pitch relaying were taken to not show the safe seating being installed, would have liked to see how that is getting on as it has started apready.
Haha. That was always a certainty

If were 4 or 5 points off top after the rags game in november, I think every other team will be pretty nervous. Even tho im hoping were closer than that, because the home fixtures are very good at the start.

We will have played United on the same weekend in March for 3 seasons running, which from personal point of view is a ball ache as its the wife's birthday weekend....more grief when i say im off to the game
