you suggest there's going to be a super super title deciding sunday planned

see below

What is "sequencing"?
That's the methodology we use which is all about breaking the season down into a number of constituent parts, which are called sets. We break it down into five sets, which are reversed in the second half of the season.

Are there any rules you have to adhere to?
There are the "golden rules" of sequencing. In any five matches there should be a split of three home fixtures, two away, or the other way around.

Wherever possible a club will not have more than two home or away matches in a row, and will be home and away around FA Cup ties.

We will also strive to prevent any club from having to start or finish the season with two home or two away matches because it would be unfair for a team to finish with two aways, especially if they are looking for points.

Around the Christmas period, if you are at home on Boxing Day you will be away on New Year's Day, or the equivalent date. And we will also try to maintain a Saturday home-away sequence throughout the season wherever possible.

Do clubs from the same area play at home on the same day?
Most clubs will have a partner club they cannot clash with. There are the obvious ones – Manchester United and Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton – and then when you get into London it gets a bit more complex and less obvious.

What happens next?
Around March, the Premier League sends to each of its member clubs a form asking them to fill in three things: 1) Are there any dates you wish not to be at home? That is answered in conjunction with the local police. 2) Which club do you want to pair with? 3) Are there any teams you do not wish to play at home on Boxing Day?

Can you satisfy all of the requests?
From looking at the sequence we know how many of these dates we can meet. When we can't, the Premier League will ask the club which of the requests are most important.

We cannot accommodate everything but, on average, we satisfy higher than 85 per cent every year.

wait till champions league fixtures added
Sat: Chelsea (A)
Tues/Weds: CL Game 2
Sat: Liverpool (A)

Nice! F’ing joke the way the PL hamstrings their teams flying the flag in Europe, while other countries go out of their way to help their clubs!

Doubt we gonna win the PL this year but it’s time for the CL!

Another anomaly yet again ... we play Leicester twice in the first half of the season ... and Brentford twice in the second half, so at Boxing Day when everyone is half way through, we'd have played a tougher team twice already!

Thats the only challenging run though. All the others are quite kind fixtures in my opinion. Even United away is good in terms of travel.

MD1 - Leicester (a) then Southampton (h)
MD2 - Chelsea (a) then Liverpool (a)
MD3 - Burnley (h) then Brighton (a)
MD4 - Palace (h) then United (a)
MD5 - Everton (h) then West Ham (h)
MD6 - Watford (a) then Wolves (h)

So matches preceding CL games - 3 at home, 3 away. Matches after CL games 3 home and 3 away. Seems quite fair and some kinder games in there too.

Anyone know when they announce the dates/times for the August games

Around 5th-10th July ... August and September TV Picks would be announced, and future dates of when next months TV picks will be as well.

Actually correction, Premier League have announced a date for first TV picks (August only): Broadcast selections for the month of August will be announced by Monday 21 June 2021

I can see everyone else playing first and us being on Monday Night Football on Sky!

Get them out of the way during group games, I'm all for that...much better than a last 16/QF/Semi between them.

Can someone figure this one out please so I can fix the calendar accordingly.

IS THERE ANOTHER fucking International Break at end Jan/early Feb?

I had assumed 29/30 Jan being an FA Cup weekend and next 5/6th Feb being part of that winter break that's why we are on 9th Feb but I see everyone is that mid week and both weekends are off for Premier League.

Premier League have cited this in the fine print:

International break

The weekend of Saturday 29 January 2022 forms part of the FIFA International Match Calendar, and as such, no Premier League matches have been scheduled.

And then I have found this on a quick Google search ...

There is an international window for all confederations excluding UEFA from January 24 to February 1 2021, which may see clubs without some players for a round of fixtures if they are subject to a mandatory release.

In 2021, an international break is scheduled between March 22 and March 30, with it likely UEFA nations will compete in friendlies during this time while other countries play qualifying matches for other tournaments, including for the delayed AFCON in 2022.

Is it for Afcon? Is FA Cup and Carabao off during that as well? I guess that bit of the calendar would change but I can't see a winter break mentioned anywhere where half the teams play one weekend and others play the next ... these two weekends are completely off ?!?

Pep will love that start. It means the squad have to be on it from the first match.
