I agree. What else is there for him? He’d be lost without this, if he leaves it will be another “sabbatical” and could then see him return. He loves city.

Looking at the defensive stats for the lad dont think he'll be bad in the 8 with some pressing triggers/positioning set.

I still think something might happen at Leverkusen. Ok they won’t have a fire sale but the narrative is always going to be Alonso/Wirtz stay while they are fighting for it all. Add to that a home euros in Germany.

Bayern will put pressure on them. I think there’s a reason the next big thing hasn’t been linked there a lot yet. They haven’t given up on Alonso.

Not this time around. In order to convince Alonso to stick around for another season at Bayer Leverkusen they have assured him that their star players aren't going to be moved on just yet. Wirtz's Dad has also mentioned he isn't moving on just yet either. Remember the fuss saying Bellingham was nailed on to join City?
