Florian Wirtz

Can’t see us getting Wirtz, if Madrid are really interested they’ve probably been tapping him up for a while. Bayern ditto. We desperately need someone to replace KDB, while Phil offers more goal scoring threat, he just isn’t as creative so occasionally without KDB we can look a little toothless.

For me Wirtz would arrive almost exactly like KDB, with stellar assist numbers in the Bundesliga with a few years before he hits his peak. He’d be perfect but can’t see it with Madrid and Bayern hovering.
Bayern can't afford wirtz, after renewing Musiala, Alonso and soon to be kimmich. I think only we and madrid are in for him at the prices being touted for him.

It seems weird that we have sanctioned Martin Blackburn to release our interest in a player this early as it's something we rarely do.

Kev, Gundogan & Bernardo have been legends, but like David, Yaya & Ferny, time & tide wait for no-one. I can see Kev & Bernardo staying another season with Pep prefering Phil playing out on the right.

DM Rodri/Gonzalez
LCM Wirtz/ KDB
RCM Echeverri/Bernardo
LW Savinho/Doku
RW Foden/Bobb
ST Haaland/Marmoush

I'm not sure where the notion that Bayern can't afford Wirtz came from—they absolutely can. After all, they are the biggest and most financially powerful club in Germany. If there's any German club capable of pulling off such a signing, it's them.

With Thomas Müller reaching the twilight of his career, Bayern will undoubtedly be searching for a long-term successor, and Wirtz fits the profile perfectly. They know Europe’s elite clubs are circling, but they have a unique advantage—they can sell him the full German footballing dream, emphasizing how playing for Bayern could elevate his status in the national team. The prestige of wearing that jersey, the weight of their domestic dominance, and the allure of forming an iconic partnership with Musiala to lead Bayern—and Germany—to glory. And, of course, all the Bavarian traditions that come with it. Let's be honest, bratwurst probably tastes different as a Bayern player than as a Bayer player.

That said, we should be all over him.

Is Kane their record transfer at ~£80m? I agree with the sentiment but will Bayern go to the numbers that Leverkusen will require for this transfer?

I think it’s crucial for Bayern to secure the best talent Germany has to offer, especially with a highly decorated legend like Müller approaching the end of his career. Wirtz is undeniably one of the brightest young talents in football, and Bayern would be wise to ensure he wears their colors.

If Wirtz is open to the move, Bayern will have no issue breaking the Kane fee to land him. But that’s the key—Wirtz has to want it. Imagine being the biggest club in Germany and failing to attract one of the nation’s best young stars, only to watch him thrive elsewhere. That would be a massive hit to their ego, something they’ll be desperate to avoid. So they are likely to pay up.

Behind the scenes, you can be sure they’re pulling out all the stops to bring him in. Personally, though, I hope he chooses City.

Leverkusen also has to be willing to sell him there. They have signaled they aren’t willing so far.

Yeah, that too. But even if Bayer doesn’t want to sell to Bayern, if Wirtz decides that he only wants to play for Bayern (hopefully not), then they’ll have no choice but to negotiate or risk losing him for free when his contract runs down. That said, I have a feeling that Bayer and Wirtz may already have a mutual understanding that a move to Bayern isn’t on the table, which leaves us and Madrid. Perhaps there's an unspoken agreement that his next step will be outside of Germany rather than strengthening their biggest domestic rival.

Theoretically that all sounds correct, but in reality no they cannot afford a 100m+ player this summer after re-signing alonso and muisla (who just signed the largest contract in bayern history) as well as planning on re-signing kimmich, keeping in mind they just signed Kane for 80m. Those are facts. Us and madrid are his most likely destinations this summer.

I absolutely will not be getting my hopes up with this one. I'd be ecstatic if we managed to sign him him, but it's incredibly unlikely

also not majorly fussed if he does not join us, he is more a Foden type player than KdB

Bilal El Khannouss is better prospect in that regard

Can't see us involved in a protracted public bidding war - not our style. It's either not happening or pretty much done and will be announced just after the season ends (imho).

Can't remember where, but I'm sure Ive read somewhere because of the CWC ,we are allowed and eaelier window next summer, unless I dreamt it. So if we are interested maybe it gives us a head start.

GK. RB. CM. AM

think that'll be it regardless, squad space is still tight for CL, we're over already and ive got 8 earmarked to leave on my list already (Ederson, Walker, Grealish, Gundo, Kova, Phillips, Nunes, KDB) even then one of the 4 in has to be HG.

Gonna be interesting summer, ngl would love this kid in the mix though.
Thought about this again. The only way I could see of doing it would be if we sold Grealish and got Wharton as the CM,leaving a space for Wirtz to replace KDB. Wouldn't be cheap though, but can't think of any other homegrown player to replace Grealish with.
