Florian Wirtz

Christ. One poor game and people are on his back. I thought that privilege was reserved for City players only?!

He's obviously mint. He wouldn't have all of Europe after him if he wasn't. Shame he'll ever go to Bayern or follow Alonso to Madrid.

I'd rather Musiala but that won't be happening either after his recent contract renewal.

Mainoo is ''highly rated''. So is/was Hojlund. So was Jizzyjazz. All I'm saying is that I have seen Wirtz on numerous occasions and just don't see what the hype is. If we sign him I really hope to God I'm wrong.
Think he is being over hyped, but also think he's a very good player. That said I'm fairly even over whether we buy him or don't. If we do I'm sure he'll be a good player for us if we don't whoever we decide to buy or use in that position insted will be very good for us to. In short getting him is the be all and end all signing some make out, nobody is.

If not Wirtz do u know a better 10? Wirtz was the best player last season in the Bundesliga everyone and their mothers knows that. The hype doesn’t come out of nowhere. Maybe you watched the wrong games or compare this type of players to the individual quality players had in the 00‘s and 10‘s. If that’s the case sit would make sense why u don’t get the hype since there‘s barely any player right now who would make the top 10 5-15 years ago.

Feel like there's no way he doesn't go to bayern.
Under normal circumstances it would be very difficult because Bayern appear to have his Dad onside too.

In this instance we have a chance (Bayern recently said they themselves believe they only have a 10% chance of getting him)

This is because Bayer are one of the few teams in Germany unhappy to sell to Bayern because 1. Bayer correctly sees them as a rival and 2. They know that Bayern will low ball them or even try to get him for free.

I think City will offer the most money for Wirtz and Bayer will push for us. It’s then up to Pep to persuade him he is the new KDB.

One thing we know about our club is we are very good at scouting the Bundesliga. If our scouts think he is legit then he probably a pretty safe bet.

It wasn't even poor according to some reviews I've seen. He got a 2 from BILD which is very good. Haven't see the game though .

How many goals and assists did Goofy get for that lot a few seasons ago?
I only quote what I see.
So when you say you have never seen him do anything and goals or assists aren’t a factor for you…what do you mean? Expected threat? On ball value? What do you look for? Just curious how you are measuring what you are seeing.

I find German football a hard watch at the best of times so twenty minutes at one go is difficult. I’ve tried watching Leverkusen on quite a few occasions primarily to watch Wirtz. Each time I see a few sideways and backwards passes and little else. Maybe I’m unlucky and, as I keep stressing, if he comes to us I really, really, really would like to be proven wrong. You obviously think he’s the dogs doodahs. Many do, seems as though a few don’t. All about opinions.

The talk concerning Leverkusen's hesitancy to sell to their rival Bayern is reminding me of the Declan Rice situation with West Ham and Arsenal.

I think its a done deal for Bayern, thats why their boss spoke highly about him when he said he is the best player in Germany

Otherwise why make such statement that might cost your club extra millions

Why would he come to City in this current state? Plenty of questions marks around the squad.

We didn’t build from a position of strength and when you are going for elite players, stuff like that matters.

With the Ballon D'or holder next to him in midfield, the perhaps best striker on the planet in front of him and the most reputable manager in the world on bench, not to mention being able to pay amongst the highest salaries, us being attractive for elite players is the least of ours concerns.
The only thing that could change that short term is a bad 115 outcome, until then our more than a decade of success means we will be seen as the top dogs in the worlds most attractive league, regardless if we have one bad season or not.
