If it was about Wirtz, anyone associated with Leverkusen wouldn't be at City.

That's the job of Txiki to go to Germany and discuss.

It's been in the media for a month or two now that Leverkusen are admirers of both McAtee and Ortega. That's why they would have been at City if anything.

Right, so if Leverkusen were at City to talk about McAtee and Ortega, then there’s no reason Wirtz couldn’t be part of a wider conversation too and save a flight over to Germany.

I think City and Leverkusen will have had an agreement on price and amortisation months ago.

Talk out of Germany was we went for him in January.

It's all down to the player now by all accounts, the ball is in his court.

If he agrees to join us the deal will be very quick I would imagine. Unlike Gvardiol was.

I think we will pay what it takes to sign him but sadly Bayern will reluctantly match it and the player will want to go there as his priority.

Also CL qualification has to be achieved to even be in the race to sign him, I just don't think we have a 1% chance of signing him without it.

He has to hit the ground first. Wirtz is another level everyone and their mums knows that. Even in our game McAtee is most of the time not on the ball. With Foden we already have a similar player in the similar spaces with better ability. Keeping McAtee is nonsense

We just need to make sure there is a buy back, match, sell on etc. like we normally do but didn’t work Palmer. To be honest would be surprised if we managers to get a buy back in there but if this gets Wirtz done…
 
Pay whatever it takes. He’ll be a 10 year statue player & with most of the midfield leaving this is the player we’ll need to lead the new midfield. I don’t want us doing our “won’t pay a premium” pride thing with this one. Pay it. Amortise it.

We probably think we have every thing in order to get it done. We don’t rush big targets like when Sergio left but we waited a year for Haaland. There’s an argument we would have done the same here and extended Kev a year if we knew he wasn’t interested. I think he signs here.
