FFP is a joke as everyone says, but they are missing what the joke actually is...it is that a club where an INVESTOR has used his own money to GROW A CLUB, this is bad, but other clubs who float hundreds of millions in debt, or use national politicians to help them save their clubs in oligopoly leagues, are lauded as the best in the world!
Football, as has been obvious since the second ball was kicked, is a BUSINESS, where most clubs are OWNED BY GLOBAL BUSINESSMEN. This is especially true in Britain, where the PL is the most lucrative football market in the world. Simply go down the list of clubs and look who owns them...
Chelsea?
United?
Arsenal?
Liverpool?
Spurs?
Along with City, that’s the so-called Top Six, and they are ALL OWNED BY DEEP POCKETS OWNERS. The difference? City had to do it from a position further back, and then had to do it as rapidly as possible BECAUSE UEFA BROUGHT IN FFP TO PROTECT THEIR CARTEL!
So, let’s go to court, let’s put it all in the table, let’s discuss corruption at FIFA & UEFA, and let’s see who and what clubs come out smelling like a rose, and who looks like they are bent as a nine bob note!
There is no way Mansour can be worried that building one of the strongest clubs in the world over the last 10 years....and proving it is a strong, in going business with the Chinese investment basically proving the club is worth 10x what it was when he bought it.
This is kids in the school yard, and a German tabloid (Bayern monopoly anyone???), trying to shit on the parade...but the parade is still going strong and will continue to roll over all comers. One wonders where the money to “buy” Neymar and Mbappe in the same year comes from? Oh wait, no that was a structured deal that meets FFP! As I said, it’s a joke! City were being forced to pay over the odds in an effort to compete by these same ****s who now turn around and say “FFP!FFP!FFP!”
I’m not sure about everyone else, but I’m not concerned and Mansour has the kind of “Fuck You” money that makes the likes of Der Spiegel and UEFA shit their pants IF they want to get into a legal battle over restraint of trade, monopoly practices and illegal cartels.
At the absolute most, I expect UEFA to extract the money City didn’t have to pay from the original fine for some technical FFP rule violation (and definitely nothing “illegal”) and Mansour will happily count the fucking money out for them in C notes, while laughing in their faces!
Oh, and before I forget, this is just another aspect of the NATIONALISM that is sweeping across the globe and in football, the “dirty Arab money” is the Central American caravan/Refugee Boat in the Med, because heavens forbid someone should REALLY look into the REAL BUSINESS of the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, the Milans, Juventus, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc...
