Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

There’s obviously a backlog of legit emails validating the articles, otherwise Der Speigel would be bankrupted by damages paid out to City and PSG.

There will be a ban from European competition, minimum; this is UEFA’s last chance to keep the prestigious revenue generators within their dependently-lucrative competitions - they’re not going to facilitate the breakaway Super League by pandering to two wealthy clubs who’ve been exposed as being ‘creative’ with their accounting and revenue.

If Infantino was still part of UEFA, then they might have felt compelled to resist, but him since leaving the organisation allows them to scapegoat him, and for the current President to score brownie points for restoring the organisation’s reputation and ethics.

It’s just far too obvious, isn’t it?

Why don’t crawl back under your rag rock you sad t””t

Looking at Bayern's income, it actually went down in 2017 compared to 2016. They aren't getting more from matchday revenues, they've maxed out their media income from domestic and UEFA prize money and their commercial income is already the highest in the football world so that's not shooting up either, whereas we've still got some upside.

They're in danger of falling down the European pecking order, like the Milan teams, as their wage bill is about 2/3rd's of ours and the other clubs up there so they're not able to attract the top rank of world players. A Super League is their only chance to increase income and stay relevant.
They also have their second highest ever average squad age, at 30.4.
Now with the way players prices have risen over the last few years, it will take a huge investment to reinvigorate that squad.

What will the ban be for?

Its a storm in a tea cup - EUFA would have to take us on AND PSG too ... good luck with that ....

1) Infantino leaving EUFA is irrelevant, there's a confidentially agreement in place drawn-up between City and UEFA at the time City reluctantly accepted FFP punishment last time.

2) The so called leaks and information have been obtained by unlawful/nefarious means.

3) The 'leaks' and snippets of info in some cases have been taken out of context, in some cases exaggerated or distorted.

3) City and PSG will not lie-down and accept any potential ban from the Champions League, CAS would be first avenue then and it could be a long drawn-out and very expensive legal battle for UEFA that will likely have a very embarrassing outcome for them.

4) FFP flies in the face of European law, yes its been challenged before but given UEFA's track record in recent years of 'moving the goalposts' to suit some clubs and the blatant distortion of prize money to also suit these same clubs (we know who they are) they are not showing themselves in a good light. Its clear that FFP is not about ensuring clubs are run sensibly (if it were debt would be part of the calculation), its about the select few retaining domination and making the sure they get the lions share of the pot even if they are f*cking sh*t. Bayern Munich are a particularly ****ish club & key ring-leaders banging the drum like tax dodging c*nt Rummenigge.

'Sun JIhad' Is that your name is it?. I'm interested to know why its your forum handle? ...Just another sad City hater ... I say f*ck you and f*ck off you c*nt, get a life ...

I'll probably get a warning or booted for that last bit :D

The opinion that FFP must apply to all and must be obeyed by all even though the regulations may be unfair and anti-competitive has been expressed by virtually everyone whose mouth is watering at the prospect of action against City which can stop it in its tracks. The rules must be applied! City must be punished! Or must they? UEFA has to be very careful indeed. Those who argue that City seem to want one law for the rich and another for the poor would do well to remember that City are very rich indeed and very powerful, rich and powerful enough to ensure that our rights at law are respected.

Article 101 of the Treaty on the functioning of the European Union, as we will all remember from 2014, prohibits any association of undertakings which aim to restrict or distort competition, in particular by limiting or controlling, amongst other things, investment. "Any agreements or decisions prohibited pursuant to this article shall be automatically void." This should set the alarm bells ringing at UEFA and seem to justify the confidence City are said to feel. The important part, though, is the direct quote from the treaty, in particular the use of the phrase "automatically void" which may be interpreted, perfectly reasonably, to mean that City have been right to ignore the FFPR and need not have changed their conduct after 2014. It also means that those who associated to enact and enforce FFP were acting unlawfully as a cartel.

The consequences of a judgement of this nature by the courts would ruin not only UEFA. Is it a risk worth taking?

I’m fully up to speed, I was just wondering why the WUM thought we’d face a ban for something we’vecakready been punished for.
