Difficult to believe anything Pinto says given that he has been accused of blackmailing organisations by threatening to release the data he has hacked off them. I wonder how many people paid up to keep stuff out of the public domain. Remember he was arrested in a sting operation and caught asking for cash on tape after a long-running surveillance operation. It looks like they have got him bang to rights. However it is strange that Der Spiegel and others do seem to be targeting certain clubs (City and PSG) although I think the Ronaldo rape claims have had a lot more coverage abroad than here.

Quite frankly i think this hacker is crap, based of what he he accused City of being little more than media click bait,and most of it known, for me what is interesting is how did who ever paid him find him? there are far more grubby fashionable targets than us for it to be anything other than a contract,and it will come out if he lives, bet Hoeness`s knees are trembling at the thought of the showers

Makes it even harder for UEFA now. If it was a bowing match they would be staggering around the ring glancing at the ref.

The phrase "could not be substantiated" says it all. Given that all the Der Spiegel claims against City are based on a tiny portion of stolen seven-year-old emails and the only source for this information is now facing a huge prison sentence for extortion on a global scale it makes you wonder how UEFA can possibly substantiate any allegations.
It should also be noted that Der Spiegel is still embroiled in the "biggest scandal German newspapers have ever seen" and have already admitted that some of their senior staff have been "making up stories" for years. This doesn't bode well for UEFA in any future legal action with City.

Is this the investigation that certain journalists gave assurances that we were on the verge of being found guilty of, or would that be another investigation?

Despicable unbalanced coverage based on a single unnamed source and lifted from Der Spiegel with no checks and no context of where the information came from ie from Rui Pinto the alleged blackmailer. No credence given to City's statement that we had "irrefutable evidence" that we were innocent. They were all desperate to believe the leak from an individual on the Uefa investigations committee which is now clear was part of smear campaign by one of our commercial rivals. This is what happens when a group of individuals are dominated by their own unconscious bias. They wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face.

Unfortunately City were denied the opportunity to present any evidence in their defence by the IC before the whole sham was curtailed. Stalin's show trials in the 1930s had more transparency than the UEFA IC's kangaroo court.

Perhaps the media realised their folly in publishing unverified stories and so did not get involved in the Liverpool spyware story?

It’s been quite a while now.

But it’s just come to mind.

I’m still waiting for all those other hacked files on other football clubs in the PL, and across Europe, that Der Spiegel promised to publish.

I appreciate City winning at CAS was a huge blow to Der Spiegel’s reputation(and UEFA’s), and has made Der Spiegel think twice about publishing more hacked files on other football clubs. Especially those hacked files implicating UEFA’s European cartel football clubs.
