Football Manager 2011

appologies bout the long post, right so last night i decided to start the pentagon, which for those who don't know what that is it's basically you have to win the champions league or equivelant in all five continents and start off with your reputation as sunday league footballer and as unemployed.

so heres the leagues i loaded, argentina (second division & above), austalia (premier division), brazil (second divsion & above), china (frist division & above),england (npower 2 & above), holland (eerste & above), ireland (first division & above), italy (serie b & above), mexico (promotion league & above), poland (first division & above), south africa (first divisions & above), south korea (nleague & above), spain (liga adelante &above).

so started the game in july 2010 england, applied for all jobs goin, none goin in england or ireland where i would have liked to have started, got offered alot jobs in asia and south africa, took the job offer from beijing, mailny because they offered the biggest transfer kitty, £768000.

when i took over beijing it was mid season, the media had them as predicted to finish second in the league, they were ninth, i signed a few players mainly free transfers and most off them brazillian or argentinian, then realised when i went to play first game that there are restirctions on foreign players on team, no more than four foreign players on pitch at any time and no more than 5 in the team including the subs, so that was a pain, but ive gotten used to that now,

i sacked my assistant manager as he was useless and got in none other that john aldridge, whos actually a best assistant ive had on any of the games ive played, i changed the training to my liking, and changed the formation to my 4-2-4 killer formation, which doesnt work week in week out there like it does in england, ive taken them from 9th to 4th. theres 8 games left and my team is ravaged by injury and suspensions, if i can keep in 4th spot ill get into the asian champions league. i'll give anupdate at end of season.

has anyone else tried this yet or be interested in doing the challenge ?

Think I'll take this on tonight after soccer although with my own league choices.

I was going to follow the advice of Niall, but upon my search I found a particular forward who I'm now pursuing.

I don't want to name the individual in question, as that would be unprofessional, but I'll let you all know once the saga is complete, either way.

Haha.

After a bit of back and forth, a fee has been agreed with his club.

Now just gotta hope he decides to sign...

-- Tue Jun 28, 2011 6:03 pm --

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! BALOTELLI! HE'S A STRIKER! HE'S GOOD AT DARTS!!!

Has anyone managed to sell anyone without them demanding money for taking a pay cut?
No, even JO asks for money for pay cuts

I piss players off with low transfer value and high wages, so they get fed up and will agree to mutual termination. :)

Storming the league with Crewe, much to my own surprise! Got knocked out in the next round of the league cup (after beating Forest) by Fulham, away, but only 1-0 and so not too upset.

Board are being very nice to me - just accepted my request for more coaches, and so I can have 6 in total now. Injuries are a pain though, Martjn Resuer has been injured for 6 weeks, on his comeback gets in injured after 1min 32 secs. Also got injuries to Collins John, Alex Nimely, my tricky French winger Gasmi and my new Icelandic powerhouse defender Gislason. Had to sign Gai Assulin on loan for 3 months just so I had a left sided player. Collins John has 8 in 10 games, hoping someone will meet his £1.5m release clause in January. I need the dosh!

Still, the young kids I have had to throw in have done extremely well. We're top, 11 wins and 2 draws from 13. Added Tommy Van Der Leegte to my midfield and he's running matches for me, tidying up the play a treat, and with Alex N'Kong Remi Sergio just behind my striker are combining well in our short passing game.

Still getting some odd results though - hammered Bradford away 4-0, then struggled to a 2-1 win over bottom of the league Stockport, who have lost 10 games on the trot.

Sent Rhys Taylor back to Chelsea from his loan - we were paying 1k a week contributions! - and got in a replacement loanee keeper. Through to next round of the Johnstone Paints competition and quite fancy my chances - Macc at home next round so who wouldn't!?

For info, City in my game have started ok, top 6 after third of the season. They got hammered 4-0 away to Chelsea first game but are recovering. They have only signed Jefferson Farfan, Arturo Vidal and two youngsters though.

Finished my 1st Season with City,

League : Finished 4th, Chelsea won, United and Arsenal 6 points ahead of me. Didnt win in last 5 games.
FA Cup : Knocked out by Spurs on Penalties after they Equalised both Games in the last minute.
League Cup: knocked out by Carlisle whilst I was resting players.
Europa League: Knocked out by Valencia in Semis. 4-1 away and 0-0 at COMS.

Tevez asked for transfer I said no and I kid you not, All my players were unhappy.

Any tips? Tevez now says he is happy? but everyone else is not.

I need to bulk up I think, Yaya and Nige were injutred for last 6 months.
