Started the Pentagon Challenge (to win the 5 different continental champions leagues), Going to get looking for a job soon.
Loaded these leagues:
Africa: South Africa
Asia: Australia, China, South Korea
Europe: Belgium, Holland, Russia
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Peru
North America: Mexico, U.S.A
All lowest leagues activated apart from Brazil where I only went down to div2 not div3.
Set myself as a sunday league footballer and i'm going to stick to all the additional rules:
1) Stay in the green on the wage bill.
2) Only sign players from the country your managing in. (But I may be a bit flexible on this rule, particularly with free transfers)
3) Don't use the English League.
EDIT:
Offered a job with like 10 clubs which was surprising, best job offer I felt was the New Eng Revolutions so I took it. There was a tempting offer in China, with £500,000 transfer kitty but it wasn't tempting enough, plus I have took over NER at joint second in the Eastern Conference. Signed Faustino Asprilla as a scout, surprisingly good stats.
managing the dippers at the moment, fucking gerrard is pissing me right off, the lazy **** has an average of 6.85 and thinks he is playing ok! tried everything to motivate him but dont seem to work. suarez on the other hand has been awesome loads of goals and assists. gona have a major clear out at the end of the season with the likes of downing and cole been shown the door!!
10 games into my United FC managerial career and this is where it stands:

Leading to a respectable 2nd in the league:

I originally decided on playing a 4-4-2 with pacey wingers, good at crossing and using Radebe as a big Target Man who can score from headers. I was set quite defensively and narrow out of possession, then I spread out in possession catching them on the break.
The problem with this is that I played like crap. A humiliating loss to the semi-professional AmaZulu then an absolute thumping from Baroka FC (another non league club) quickly changed my decision for me. I can't play like this, I'm just not built this way. I have to play good, attacking football or I wither and die. I didn't believe in the team and I didn't believe in the philosophy.
However, I didn't want all of that teamwork wasted so needed a 4-4-2 or something close to it. I switched the passing to short thus put a player in the hole to help feed the main striker up top, in a 4-4-1-1 system. The hole player will be the David Silva of the team and everything will go through them. I have two or three players who could play this position as a playmaker and a couple of strikers who are pretty pacey so could be used as a Trequartista in an emergency. Here's the system:

Lichaba has been excellent on the left wing and Sekete is a defensive rock. The unfortunately named Kurt De Kock has been doing well in net yet Radebe hasn't played aswell as I would have hoped. No goals in 10 games. With him injured, it gives me a chance to rotate a bit and see who fits best up top. Ndlela, time to make your mark son.
We were thrown out of the cup in the first round, but that's fine as it's all about the league for me and getting promoted.
Speaking of the league, it has some ridiculous rules:

That's my usual tactic of "sign great 35 year old players" out of the window. And it also puts my decision to list the whole reserve squad as a bit daft. Either way, things are going well early on. I've brought pacey, attacking football to Botshabelo and the crowd has swelled to a massive new record attendance of 376. I've also broken the club record of 5 games without losing, the previous record being 2.

So, so far i've started the Pentagon Challenge with New England Revolutions. I took over with them in 3rd place in the league, 2 points ahead of 4th, but 4th had two games in hand so currently I now occupy 4th place. I need to finish in the top 3 to make the play offs and this is how the table currently looks:
This is how i've first started out I was using the 4-1-2-1-2 formation but just got absolutely spanked off of Philidelphia, so i'm going to change to my version of an attacking 4-2-2-2:
The previous manager had arranged a bloody friendly two days before a big match, god knows what he was doing but I didn't realise and it was too late to cancel, tried to rest some players but my squad is tiny.
Keep us updated fella. Interested to see a US team as I'm planning on heading there for the CONCACAF version of the Champs League.
What formation are you playing? Have you changed your training at all?

-- Sun Jun 03, 2012 6:00 pm --

[bigimg]http://i.imgur.com/zwPLj.png[/bigimg]
Jomo Sono is the owner and manager of Jomo Cosmos. Wonder who owns it now!
Well started with a simple 4-1-2-1-2 and then moved to a 4-2-2-2 but neither are really working out couple of defeats on the bounce and getting out-played. Tried a 3-5-1-2 aswell but that only managed to get me a 3-3 draw. So reverting back to a tactic i'm usually good with, a 4-5-1.
As for training i've given specific players training focuses because i've looked at the league averages and seen where i'm struggling in comparison, but i've not really set up a new schedule which I may have to look into.
As for managing in America I think its tough particularly with no budget and average facilities. Mexico might have been a better option when applying for jobs. I'm doing the opposite to you, once i've won this Champions League, I'm going to Africa to win the CAF Champions League, hopefully by then my reputation would have built and I can be someone like the Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates. How are you doing in Africa?
Just gave away a 2 goal lead but the training schedule is working, oh new signing recommended by my scouts.
C.J Sapong from Sporting Kansas hoping he isn't a flop. 1 goal in 2 games
