Football Union Threatens Legal Action

Make a rule of 35 with 10 minimum academy players. It might benefit so called lesser clubs by their start academy players getting a decent run out.
The top clubs wouldn’t accept that, I don’t think. It’s already 25 plus unlimited youngsters.

Maybe 30 squad places, but with certain restrictions to guarantee top players some rest periods.

Weld tachographs to the players and limit their game time, inspect the tachographs twice a week.

At the swamp weld the toilet windows shut.

Doubt it'll be an early grave but I suspect careers will be shortened due to wear and tear.
I knew a few ex professional footballers who would have played in the 50s and to a man they were all knackered with dodgy hips and knees.
Quite a few of my pals have had hip, knee and even an ankle replacement. All very necessary and of them will be on his second knee in a couple of years when he’ll be just 62, had the first one aged mid 40’s (same knee).

A club that's not in Europe, and who doesn't do especially well in the cups, is playing nowhere near enough games for that size of squad.

Last season, Everton played 41, and we played 61.

"The price of success"

It's something everyone needs to discuss and agree on.

As I've said before an 18 club PL would be a start but I can't see the yank owners going for that.

Clubs will need bigger squads. Only way it can continue. Only a few clubs including City have the luxury of being able to have depth in their squad. Something will need to change with FFP to level the playing field somewhat, allowing clubs to rotate without compromising the quality of their team
City have one of the smallest squads in the PL. Seems Pep prefers a smaller squad, the press always say it’s a big squad but…

Increase Squad sizes and set a maximum games/ minutes.
I like the idea of a maximum, but surely it's far too complex for different players?

Pep tends to heavily rotate the forward players who are doing a lot of energetic work in the team, so that, even in our long seasons, they're only playing about as much as an average PL player.

Our defenders make a lot of passes, but they're probably putting in very few high intensity sprints in a game. Even Rodri, who is obviously the most involved player, isn't expected to be chasing 30 yards to close down an opponent, so what's a "Rodri minute" compared with an "Alvarez minute".

And then you have differences in players physicality. Look at Salah, who plays a high intensity game, is absolutely hammered by Liverpool, yet has an injury history that most goalkeepers would be jealous of.

I know loads of tradesmen in the same boat.
I played Saturday and Sunday then 5 days on my knees tiling floors, I'll be lucky to earn in my entire life what some of our players earn in a couple of months.
High risk,high reward.
