Footballers Collapsing/Becoming ill

To be honest I think there is too much football, especially given the physical demands of the modern game. But whenever anyone suggests ditching the League Cup or reducing the size of the PL it is not about reducing the global total of games but about having more European football!

On top of that there are way too many internationals these days, and many of the matches are as pointless as City v the Farmer's Arms would be.

I’d imagine it’s the extreme levels of fitness and harsh diets. Or something to do with that. I have two friends whom have had health issues, both due to putting extreme pressure on the heart through extensive exercise and stressful jobs. One was training for a marathon and was a sub 3hr marathon runner.

The pressure footballers put their body under is ridiculous these days, couple that with pressure i’d imagine that a bit of a recipe for disaster.

Sadly young footballers have sadly been dying for a long time.

Doesn't seem to be getting any attention beyond individual cases, but surely at some point the media has to link these together and question why the likes of Eriksen, Aguero, Fleck and now Charlie Wyke are being randomly taken ill after previously being healthy? Is it Covid? Vaccines? Lapses in heart testing protocols? Needs to be investigated in my view. It's worrying for young men to see a spate of seemingly fit and healthy role models collapsing or becoming ill, and the normal population don't have the benefit of defibrilators or immediate medical assistance if they collapse whilst exercising alone.

Think this needs more attention than it's getting, 2bh. It's a public health issue.

You might want to edit your ridiculous speculation relating to vaccines before you look like a thick misinformed twat.

Prove it isn't, and then we can take it off the table. Until then, we know Moderna causes increased incidence of heart issues in young men so it's on the table until fully researched and dismissed, as is the way with science.
