I just wanted to be assured that the representatives on City Matters, who represent all City fans not just those of us who are OSC members, are going to make the club even more aware of the depth of feeling. :-)

Not that I expect for one minute it will make an iota of difference to the powers that be! But thank you Gordyola and also @Prestwich_Blue, who has also sort of reassured this stupid old fan who is devastated that our club have jumped into bed with the clubs who wanted us banned! You’d think that by now I’d know that everyone lets you down. You can only trust yourself! :-(

But do you think every board member at those 6 clubs are in favour of this? Not a chance. But as per, people don't speak out publicly for fear of losing their jobs.

If you or I were on City's board, we'd oppose it, wouldn't we? Or would you just go along with it to preserve your position on the board?

I'd like to think even now that speaking out against this breakaway proposal at boardroom level at City is encouraged, if board members feel strongly enough against it?

My bet is that the board will do Khaldoon's bidding to a man. Hope I am wrong.
I see David Bernstein has spoken up against it. I don't think he was ever a big fan of the takeover.

I don't find a huge issue with it in all honesty but I am in a minority in that sense it seems, if you are hard nosed businessman who joined this party for a pay day then no you won't oppose it. The yanks didnt buy the dippers, arse or the rags because they loved the club did they?
Who even exists on the board of any of the top 6 clubs that would oppose this though?

In reality there are 6 people at the top of this chain that own their clubs outright as far as I know, and not a single one of them other than Abramovich has been to more than one game and that includes Sheikh Mansour (Political reasons etc may be the issue here but I think if he really wanted to he would make it happen) and that speaks volumes.

They do whatever they want as they always have done and always will do. If the people below them want to stick their heads up they get sacked, its how they become billionaires and how they stay billionaires.

At what point will our CM reps convey to the club the insane anger being felt by City fans to this uncompetitive ESL?

I seem to recall those same reps being much more forthcoming when they needed our votes. Now, silence.

This is no longer the club I’ve supported all my life. At 56 I am shocked and saddened by this news today. I for one with a very heavy heart will give up my 2 season tickets and will have no part in this new structure if it goes ahead. This news saddens me more than that Sunday many a year ago when we beat stoke and still got relegated to third level of football league.

Tell me, what is the difference between the Champions league and the new Super league?

What engagement with supporters are they “continuing”?

I understand where you’re coming from Saddleworth2. In fact my doctor rang me this morning and at the end of our conversation he mentioned City (he knows my allegiance and always mentions them!) and his take on it was that it won’t happen! So maybe there can be some more twists and turns. However it doesn’t take away the bitter taste I’m afraid. :-(
:-) My smiles are weak today! But the only people I’m annoyed with...well actually flaming angry with, are the powers that be at the top of our club who I’ve always had the greatest admiration for until now!




You see, even today, in an anger like I haven’t felt for years, I cannot use the swear words I would love to use!!!
