Forget Recriminations, how do we sort this mess out?

Surely even the most blinkered can't believe he'd be retained if we didn't get in the champions league?

Just a question for those who think Mancini should be sacked if we don't make top four.

If Spurs don't make it should they sack Redknapp?
Ditto Chelsea and Ancelotti.
Both those managers have credit in the bank from previous successes with their clubs. It isn't the same scenario

Don't care how much Mancini has spent he has done wonders with the team in the short time he's been here! For me we are where we should be! And yesterdays performance proves we are on the right track! All we need now is the front line scoring in the big games to win it!

top 4 is a must, not for bob but for us fans, we've been spoilt by having the likes of tevez, silva etc in our side, if we dont make it they could want away.worst than that its back to trying attract that level of player again.
i can see the dip in results but not so in our form, we have been very unlucky at times, that shin of a goal by the scouse twat proving it, had Vinny not slipped he clears it.
i understand totally if the club replace bob 4th or not cos really with the dosh we've spent 4th should be a given, especially this season when all around us have been wank.
if however we stick with bob it in itself will show togetherness, a trust a symbol of stability and thats been needed for quite some time at city.
i will back our owners though whatever they decide, it may take a replacement manager to up our profile yet another notch and in turn entice our world class players to stay and new ones to join, wherever we finish.

Bottom line is Dave that ALL football managers are liable to the sack at any time. Its a results business and even then, it doesn't mean you keep your job.

Too many look at the Rags and what Slur Alex has achieved but he is a one off, it isn't the normal model and history shows us that.

I have no problem with people backing a man 100%. We all do whilst he is in the job but to think that by doing so it means he will be with us forever is just ridiculous.

Players and managers will come and go and Bobby will be no different in fact, imagine us as a club backing him 100% should he not get top 4 and turning down other managers for the job, then Bobby getting a call from another club or possibly the Italian national side and telling us he is off and wants out...

How would those who demand our unstinting loyalty to the guy feel then?

Its a job for the man, nothing more or less.

Yeah? What 'success' has Redknapp enjoyed in comparison to Mancini?

You're damn right is isn't the same scenario.

I am sad for the future disappointed. Mancini will be the coach of the City 2011/2012 also if we finished sixth. Put your soul in peace.

Good question. I think Chelsea would sack Ancelotti, but Spuds is an interesting one. I think they hold twitcher in some kind of reverence because of the turnaround he performed when he first got there (and fair play to the twitchy twat, it was impressive) so he would get at least another season I reckon.

Thing about City is, we cant afford to hang around as far as CL qualification goes, its been the primary objective since day one and given the players we now have at our disposal should be more than attainable, we should be shooting for higher than 4th tbh.

The difference with Spurs is they have not spent £150 million on players this season and £300 million in the last 3 seasons and it is unlikely that any of their players will be earning more than £75,000 a week. In those circumstances Harry is doing a good job there and even if they finish 5th they will have done well.

If we dont finish 4th again when the resources have been provided to do so then we have failed and that ultimately falls on Mancini's head.

Yes, we have lost games and points recently but I think we are where we should be. The games we have coming up aren't too bad and if we win them we should be in the CL next season.
I think it's just the fact that our defensive line isn't excellent and we have relied on Joe Hart to save us far too many times this season and now that he isn't playing to his best we're seeing too many goals being conceded. Perhaps people can blame Mancini for not dropping Hart or not buying a defensive player in the transfer market but apart from the latter I can see his reasons. He wants to try and develop a team spirit which we don't have within our squad and this will not result from dropping players at the drop of a hat. He also wants to instill into our players the winning mentality that he had at Inter so that we will become champions.
Seriously, all the team needs is a little more team spirit and winning mentality because that was the only thing that United had over us yesterday. That will NOT come from sacking a manger who is as good as Mancini and I honestly believe that he is the man to lead us to great things in the future.
Remember, we are still in with a shot of winning the FA cup, the UEFA cup and being in the Champions League next season. Maybe I'm wrong but was that not our aim at the start of the season?
Us blues need to believe.

PS. It worries me that a 17 year old, female City fan has more belief and optimism than many regular posters on here.
