Forget Recriminations, how do we sort this mess out?

0.01 points average better than last season after spending 100+million and the way we approach games isn't good enough.
Top 4 or no top 4 Mancini has to be gone in the summer and bring a TOP manager in

Both those managers have credit in the bank from previous successes with their clubs. It isn't the same scenario

Yeah? What 'success' has Redknapp enjoyed in comparison to Mancini?

You're damn right is isn't the same scenario.
They are in the champions league- at our expense as it goes. Taking spurs from delegation candidates to that represents success and it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise

Yes, we have lost games and points recently but I think we are where we should be. The games we have coming up aren't too bad and if we win them we should be in the CL next season.
I think it's just the fact that our defensive line isn't excellent and we have relied on Joe Hart to save us far too many times this season and now that he isn't playing to his best we're seeing too many goals being conceded. Perhaps people can blame Mancini for not dropping Hart or not buying a defensive player in the transfer market but apart from the latter I can see his reasons. He wants to try and develop a team spirit which we don't have within our squad and this will not result from dropping players at the drop of a hat. He also wants to instill into our players the winning mentality that he had at Inter so that we will become champions.
Seriously, all the team needs is a little more team spirit and winning mentality because that was the only thing that United had over us yesterday. That will NOT come from sacking a manger who is as good as Mancini and I honestly believe that he is the man to lead us to great things in the future.
Remember, we are still in with a shot of winning the FA cup, the UEFA cup and being in the Champions League next season. Maybe I'm wrong but was that not our aim at the start of the season?
Us blues need to believe.

PS. It worries me that a 17 year old, female City fan has more belief and optimism than many regular posters on here.

Sometimes what I see on the pitch tells me that we are making progress. United only really had two chances yesterday and scored both of them. We knock the ball around well and look much calmer and composed on the ball. Unfortunately the statistics dont back this up as the results on the whole are no better than they were last season.

I think we are still lacking a plan B. Yesterday after Rooney scored we had 15 minutes to salvage something. We never looked like doing so. Against Birmingam we had the same and again couldnt do it. We are still knocking the ball around with 30 seconds to go....

When we go behind we just dont seem to be able to salvage anything.

We lack a creative midfielder like Modric who can pick a pass to overlapping fullbacks, who currently dont overlap enough.

We lack pace and width too for certain games. Look at the difference SWP made yesterday.

As for Fa Cup and Europa....If he keeps picking Vieira and Jo in those competitions then we wont win either

No. If he meets Top 4 then he deserves another season. It's our highest ever finish in the Premier League and thusly it's progression.

I think that's all about the winning mentality though. Our players need to learn how to play with each other and understand each other. That's why I think next season we'll be much better.
There's no sense in him continuing to play Vieira and Jo though. Everytime he has either of those players on the teamsheet, it's like he expects a win and I lose faith in him. That's my only fault with him as a manager though and perhaps I'm looking at it through blue-tinted spectacles but I think he's the best manager we could possibly have.

Problem is if he doesnt finish 4th then I can see Tevez, Silva and Balotelli all wanting to go. I have no problems retaining him and seeing a bit of stability but there has to be progress and only top 4 would be show that.

As for Jo and Vieira, he leaves himself open to criticism by playing them.

We really need to try and win a cup and playing those 2 isnt going to help us do this.

I think we will finish 4th though. Chelsea aren't exactly in great form either and Spurs have CL commitments which I think they will view as more important than the league if they manage to reach the latter stages. Also if we miraculously manage to win the UEFA cup we're guaranteed CL football aswell.
He's obviously going to have a connection with Vieira from their Inter Milan days and he was the only player who I think was able to cope with the ridiculos Notts County pitch. As for Jo, playing him is completely nonsensical.
Lets wait and see what team he plays in our next cup game. He might finally have seen the error of his ways.
