0.01 points average better than last season after spending 100+million and the way we approach games isn't good enough.
Top 4 or no top 4 Mancini has to be gone in the summer and bring a TOP manager in

We sack mancini , we go back to the very start . We sell players and spend millions to bring more in is not the way forward . I have faith in mancini and he can get us the top four finish that our football has deserved.

No we don't. That's a baseless fan cliche .

We present a new manager with a very strong squad which needs a few changes and let him mould them into a team. Like wenger, ancelotti and mourinho did

Correct. We are two signings away from being potential champions. One is a CB and on a top midfielder.

Mancini messed up in the January window. Relying on Vieira in midfield as a back up is never going to work. Pinnear was available for £3 million. Not only do we ignore that option, despite him being player of the season for Everton last year, we then see him move to Spurs.

We need an Arteta/Fabregas/Modric type player desperately.

The idea that we should be in the top four or else(for Mancini) is a fallacy.

If you listen to the pundits Spurs have the best squad in the league. Chelsea won the double last year and even the most blinkered City fans would say that Lampard, Essien, Drogba, Cole, even Terry would walk into our team. Probably Malouda too. Maybe Anelka.

So we are essentially now in a dogfight for 4th with two teams that have very similar squads talent wise. In Chelsea's favour is that they have experience of playing under pressure. Spurs and City don't.

Both Chelsea and Spurs have been together longer than us. Of yesterday's team only Kompany, Micah and Zabaleta have been at City any length of time.

Of the five players ostensibly playing in midfield only Barry has been here more than a season.

Now if you still think Mancini has to go we have to be prepared for another season of upheaval. Unless it is Mourinho, frankly it would be a waste of time. Even with Mourinho there will be negatives. Super Mario will be history before we have had time to see what he is all about.

Yes, we have lost games and points recently but I think we are where we should be. The games we have coming up aren't too bad and if we win them we should be in the CL next season.
I think it's just the fact that our defensive line isn't excellent and we have relied on Joe Hart to save us far too many times this season and now that he isn't playing to his best we're seeing too many goals being conceded. Perhaps people can blame Mancini for not dropping Hart or not buying a defensive player in the transfer market but apart from the latter I can see his reasons. He wants to try and develop a team spirit which we don't have within our squad and this will not result from dropping players at the drop of a hat. He also wants to instill into our players the winning mentality that he had at Inter so that we will become champions.
Seriously, all the team needs is a little more team spirit and winning mentality because that was the only thing that United had over us yesterday. That will NOT come from sacking a manger who is as good as Mancini and I honestly believe that he is the man to lead us to great things in the future.
Remember, we are still in with a shot of winning the FA cup, the UEFA cup and being in the Champions League next season. Maybe I'm wrong but was that not our aim at the start of the season?
Us blues need to believe.

PS. It worries me that a 17 year old, female City fan has more belief and optimism than many regular posters on here.

What has age and sex got to do with this?

That is a very sexist view in my mind, that somehow just because you're a woman, you shouldn't be respected for your opinion.

Bizarre.

Ah, that's' better!

The odd spelling mistake and pigeon-English phrase always helps the credibility, eh?

Bring in a set piece coach to sort us out. We are toothless from them. Utd's weakness is from headers from set peices. Yesterday we didnt threaten them.

There are so many points to be won by set pieces but we seem to only want to score the perfect goal and not from them.

Also a few shooting practice sessions + tell the players to shoot outside the box now and again wouldnt go amiss instead of trying to walk the ball into the net

Oh god, not this thread again. Is this going to be resurrected every time we fail to win a match and then a title challenge thread bumped every time we win?
