Forgotten Away Days Days Number Two - QPR 93 FA Cup

after years and years of selling mikey finally went to court for ticket touting outside old trafford, "why were you selling tickets outside old trafford" "i was just trying to get a ticket for my child who wanted to watch the game" - mikey was one of the biggest blues going though !

He also had his own City "firm" too.

I've seen Mikey Williams selling tickets outside Old Trafford on derby day with a City hat on. Noone ever dared to challenge him.

i was there...a 2-0 win I recall, found a £50 note outside the ground..turned out to be a fake...went the week after too for a league game which ended 1-1 !

I was behind the goal when Curley scored that pen, my rag mate who was in the stretford end said he had never ever seen a set of fans celebrate a goal like we did that day, we went radio rentals. Curley bangs it in and and just calmly raises his fingers to signal one one...

Being in the Stretford Paddock just heightened the buzz. When we got in, we started noticing faces from The Kippax.

We all started bunching together and when the lads came out, the blue balloons went up.

Lads out of the Stretford End started to climb into the paddock just to give us grief.

Bastards started crushing us from above, but blues just pushed back.

Remember Tony Coton coming out for second half and he pissed his sides as we shouted Tony Give us a wave.

Does anybody remember the lad who ran pretty much from the paddock to the City end behind the goal and dived in after we scored penalty.

Incredible sight.

Kicked off everywhere as we came out of Paddock.

I was also at the game and i remember as the rag fans left being amazed at how many City fans were actually in the Stretford End, as it was hard to judge when full.....fair play!

I also remember a group of us being in the home end at Port Vale in the cup i think it was and being marched around the pitch at half time by the dibble into the City end, we was greeted as we got to the City end with a heroes welcome..........great buzz.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think in the game Clive Allen came on as sub in the second half whilst setting up for a corner and scored with his first touch.

Notts County away that mate; another amazing day.

I remember being in one of the pubs down there and the landlord hiding the pool cues. Some lads from either Blackley or Middleton came in, ripped up the skirting boards and used them to play pool instead.

No, it was both Port Vale and Notts County! Clive Allen came on and scored with his first touch from a corner at Port Vale in the FA Cup. The following season at Notts County in the league he came on as a second half sub, scored twice, and turned the game on its head. We eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

I remember another away day in the cup at Notts County, not that one.

It finished 2-2. We had loads of tickets. We were shit. I'm guessing around 1994. Did Taggart equalise late on?

Yeah it's the Port Vale one i'm thinking about in the cup as we got marched around the pitch at half time and i remember Clive Allen coming straight off the bench and scoring straight from the corner.

My memory is that bad now i'm confusing myself.............lol

-- Fri Nov 19, 2010 1:53 pm --

My youngest daughter was born on this day... and I was in the Kop at Notts County as it happened! I still feel shit about this...

We drew 2-2, played shite, and David Brightwell headed a late equaliser.

I think watching blood and guts over a hospital bed would have been far more entertaining! Sorry Em...
