My first ever derby was actually at Old Trafford, an FA Cup tie around 1984?

I was only nine but remember City players all stopping when I think Jesper Olsson did his dying swan penalty appeal, and Whiteside smashed in and lost 1-0?

I was at that one too but I'd say it was around 1986. Lost one nil. I seem to remember Graham Baker hitting the post.

13,000 Blues there that day. It was gutting. Loads of scrapping before and after, inside and out.

I think we actually scored a header in the last couple if mins but it was disallowed!

I was the Gigs debut, too, in the Stretford seats. We got a City chant going. The stretford end were furious.

I was behind the goal when Curley scored that pen, my rag mate who was in the stretford end said he had never ever seen a set of fans celebrate a goal like we did that day, we went radio rentals. Curley bangs it in and and just calmly raises his fingers to signal one one...

Being in the Stretford Paddock just heightened the buzz. When we got in, we started noticing faces from The Kippax.

We all started bunching together and when the lads came out, the blue balloons went up.

Lads out of the Stretford End started to climb into the paddock just to give us grief.

Bastards started crushing us from above, but blues just pushed back.

Remember Tony Coton coming out for second half and he pissed his sides as we shouted Tony Give us a wave.

Does anybody remember the lad who ran pretty much from the paddock to the City end behind the goal and dived in after we scored penalty.

Incredible sight.

Kicked off everywhere as we came out of Paddock.

I remember seeing you all in that paddock and thinking how the fuck did you all manage to get tickets together ! That lad sprinting down touch line to jump in with us was quality.
