Fox Hunting.....

So what you're saying is that there'd be very little difference for the majority of them if it was just a fun day out horse riding? And yet for some reason, just doing that doesn't seem to be an option. There has to be an element of animal cruelty involved for it to be worth their time, apparently.

Precisely. Drag hunting doesn't have the same appeal to our psychopathic elite fox botherers.

They should probably be fair game for having their fox hounds listed as a banned breeds under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Dogs bred to hunt and live in packs, that don't make good pets/companions. And their owners should ve prosecuted for animal cruelty offences against their dogs. They would inevitably breed around the legislation, but I like the idea of giving the Toffs the same medicine as the chavs.

Anybody want to make a case for bringing back legal otter hunting or releasing American Mink to hunt?

No, but I think grey squirrels should be eradicated from this island.

That’s a fair point. Another thing we can blame toffs for. And as an invasive species they shouldn't be immune.

Without a state organised central plan to get rid of them it is unlikely that will ever happen. This is what succeeded in killing off the Coypu in the UK (and obviously Squirrels cover a much wider area and are in far greater numbers).

I don't mind drag hunting as long It's the hunt master they're dragging.

I'd suggest that you know very little to zero about fox hounds with a comment like that. It's a ridiculous and quite honestly, ignorant statement.

They can make wonderful pets, although like many other breeds, the circumstances and lifestyle have to suit. If you think they'd be roaming around ravaging everything in sight, then you are mistaken.

If you're going to consider banning them, then you should also include Border Collies, German Shepherds and many more.

I avoid arguments on fox hunting. Who is going to change their mind?
Just a note to say most hunters are not toffs, usually farmers and other locals.

Fox hunting…why?

Packs of dogs that rip the animal to shreds…why?

Red tunics, white jodphurs and horns sitting on horses…why?

It’s a tony social event around the torture of a wild animal…why?

British bull “fighting”…why?

I’m struggling to come to terms with any justification for it. I don’t have a problem with a farmer protecting his animals from a pest, but it’s not that, is it?

Seems rather cruel and a bit of weekend “sport” for people with too much time and money on their hands.

I've grown up with fox hunting, certainly in my younger years and now I would agree with you, that there's isn't a strong argument to support it. However, I've no time for the vermin and wouldn't hesitate to shoot one on sight.

That said, I feel there are a lot commenting, not so much against the hunting, but more to do with what they perceive as a 'class' resentment. That these people are able to do what I can't do, they've perhaps had a better education than me, or live in a bigger house, drive a better car, so I have a hate for them.

For many I don't think the fox hunting comes into it, they'd have the same view if it was drag hunting.
