Francis Lee RIP

RIP Franny Lee. He will always be a club legend. I wasn't born when he was playing but I did hear about the famous Norman Hunter fight.

He's been our player and owner and always gave his best for the club.

Too young to see him at games. My dad is gutted. He bought the Lee Bell Sumerbee DVD. Some funny moments

Norman Hunter
Ball in the arse of Ref

He also said that a lot of city fans cheered when he scored against us. "Look at his face"

RIP Legend
One of the greats, and one of the reasons I started supporting city when I was introduced to football (Long story!)
Happy to tell the ref what had happened!

RIP

Loves the story about 1 ref that was pissing him off:

Franny: "What would you do if I called you a ****?"

Ref: " I'd book you"

Franny: " What would you do if I thought you were a ****?"

Ref: " You can think what you want"

Franny: "OK, I think your a ****" and walked away.

Haha.

Gutted. Franny was my hero as a kid, a barrel chested powerhouse with a cracking shot and a brilliant penalty taker. I remember the "Francis, Francis, Francis!" chant after yet another goal. I signed the petition Helen the Bell was going around with not to sell him and Mike Summerbee, sadly to no avail. He went on to have a couple of great seasons more with Derby. That included the "Look at his face!" goal which was the winner on his return to Maine Road in December 1974. Rest in peace Franny, thanks for the memories.

Guess which goal BBC news showed on the news of Frannies. Yep for Derby at Maine Rd. F **k the BBC, f**k the licence fee.

RIP Franny.

Absolute giant of the club and even though his chairmanship didn't go to plan he always had the club's best interest in his heart.

Believe he was instrumental with getting the council on board with us taking over CoMS after The Commonwealth Games
