Frank Field Quits Labour

They didn’t side with the government they sided with their voters. The majority of their constituents voted Leave. Their doing their job, by representing them in parliament. Perhaps other politicians should take a leaf out of their book.

Exactly.

Nice idea but thats not how party politics works....... if the majority of the MP's for a Parliamentary party don't follow the whip there is no Parliamentary party just a rabble voting on conscience which is admirable but does lead to Italian style politics - ie a new Govt every few months. Is that what you would advocate?

Corbyn consistently refused to follow the whip, is now leader and here you are ignoring that fact and bemoaning MP’s for doing what he did?

Surely Jeremy has no issue with these MP’s for following their conscience?

However I think you will find that when you become team captain your attitude has to change - perhaps Jeremy's has - and you overlook some vital facts - Jeremy Corbyn hasn't withdrawn the whip - Frank Field resigned the whip. Jeremy Corbyn hasn't instigated a no confidence vote in him his own CLP did that and I haven't seen anything from Jeremy Corbyn singling out Frank Field for criticism over his voting that way so maybe he has no issue with it - of course its much better from your angle to blame it all personally on Jeremy Corbyn directly to continue the smear campaign.

Corbyns got fuckall to do with it, it was at local level and field has quit before he was kicked out by his CLP

Corbyn defying the whip, or any MP for that matter and there have been many, don't automatically get booted out of the Labour Party, sometimes they are suspended, sometimes, depending on the nature of the offence, nothing is done at all.

Defying the whip as Corbyn did on occasion and resigning the whip, which is what Field has done, are two entirely different things , you can't stay in the Labour Party if you do that.

I read your posts, you're not a knuckle dragger, you know this.

You're allowing your animosity towards Corbyn to cloud your thinking mate.

Corbyn didn't defy the whip on occasion, he did it all the time and on many key issues. He has even defied the views of his own party as leader on many issues, look at Trident for example. Christ knows what they think on Brexit.

The reason he never got booted out was because Labour at the time did not have a movement called Momentum which has the task of instigating the local removal of elected MP's to replace them with bots aligned to the Corbyn cause.

Momentum has even taken over the NEC of Labour which means a third party now effectively controls everything in the opposition in this country!

It will all end in tears, the general population will have their say and that is all that matters. The 0.1% who are actually involved in Labour and Momentum are completely irrelevant.

Personally I understand why he resigned and whether he was pushed or not is irrelevant, this is someone who served Labour for many years and gave Labour a safe seat for many years but was forced out basically for having a different view.

The fact Labour briefed against him the day after all that to make him look stupid just goes to show what a shocking party it has become and it will never have my vote.
